Only had a week now, but very efficient for handling 1200 s/f so far! Very easy to install, and not too ugly in my living room; I hid the vent a bit behind a curtain. I bought as a quick. temporary fix when my central a/c completely died on me, and it is helping more than I thought it would. It is a little noisy but for what it does, that can be excused. I love LG products more and more. I am hoping it lasts longer at this acceptable quality until I fix my a/c, and I will keep this in storage should I ever find myself in need again. So far, so good!!

The cooling is so wonderful
I bought one and it had two filters so I put them both in with the paper sides back to back. It cooled great so next day I bought a second one but it had no filters. The web site has no filters for sale.
Also the wheels are so small there is no room to get a pan under to drain the water. Please use larger wheels or make a hand pump.
The cooling is wonderful.

Cools as it should
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this for our weekend summer cottage from Home Depot. It has made the last two weekends of hot and humid weather bearable. We are using this to cool an approximately 900 SQ FT cottage. The unit is rated for 500 SQ FT, so a second unit is being worked into the budget. I think once we get two units installed, cooling will be improved and the unit will not run constantly.

Easy to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a grandma. The unit is heavy, but once inside I was able to install it myself. It has wheels, so it's not hard to roll on a hard floor. One thing I didn't like is that you put the insulating foam strips on the window instead of the part that goes in the window, so even though it rolls, it's not going to seal if you try to move it and put it in a different window unless you put your own insulation there, which would be ugly and might not even let you close the window right. The insulation shouldn't be dark gray, because most windows aren't that color.

This thing is a beast.
I have an open Living/Kitchen & Nook area and it kept it cool during these 90-100 degree temps. It would not get any cooler than 74, but my cooling area max's out(if not exceeds) the suggested square footage. I did have to modify the exhaust(see photos) as A LOT of heat escapes where it connects, so I used Gorilla tape and problem solved. It does come with a shorter cord than other brands, which was solved by using a 3' APPLIANCE extension cord. It says no extension cords can be used, however if you use the correct wattage cord meant for appliances, it will work fine.

I assume this is how it goes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mother in law bought it for me today. It cools off one room quickly. One room. Yes safe to say that it is loud. It is expensive as well. I understand that the hose in the back is the part of the system but it's far from nice. Also the unit is huge - for me at least I have a back and shoulder injury so the thought of moving this thing around is not possible.

LG portable AC
I have had the 14k btu portable ac unit for almost 3 years now and it's still running great. Cleaning is easy. The noise level is acceptable but hopefully a quieter one would be better. I haven't had any issues with it that I would need to contact support. The exhaust equipment needs some improvement so that it's stronger and more durable. Otherwise, it's a good unit and something i would buy again.

Waste of money
