      A:  Hi FDLewis. There are two methods to operate the LG 24 in. Stainless Steel Top Control Built-In Tall Tub Smart Dishwasher with QuadWash™, TrueSteam®, 3rd Rack, 42 dBA, Model # LDT7808_.The first method the first method is to press the Start button and then close the door in less than four seconds to operate the dishwasher. If the door is not closed within four seconds, the white LED with time flashes, an audible tone is heard, and the cycle does not start.The second method is to close the door first and then press the Start button to operate the dishwasher. If the door is opened during the cycle, the dishwasher will stop. If the door is opened during the cycle and is not closed within four seconds after selecting the Start button, or if the door is closed without pressing the Start button, the white LED with time flashes, an audible tone is heard, and the cycle does not start....^Ivan

            Terrible dishwasher. The top control boarded cracked I multiple locations within first year and the racks are rusting all over.

                Broken after 2 years
                Working like a charm 1 year within the warranty. Then it broke at the end of 2 years, keep getting AE error (potential leaking) and stop washing. Also the display panel make the error looking like AC instead of AE. The agent told me that I need to pay $300 to get it fixed. LG dishwasher is not a reliable brand.

                  Racks rust fast
                  Washing has been great, but racks are rusting. Very disappointing that a product as expensive as this has such poor rack quality. If I could order more racks, it would be great, I paid over $1000.00 for this dishwasher, and it is only 3 years old, racks started rusting after 2 years

                    This is the quietest dishwasher I’ve ever owned. Still getting use to it and haven’t set up the Wi-Fi yet.

                      FAIL This dishwasher does not perform as well as the LG company’s description boasts.
                      FAIL: FAIL to clean, FAIL to dry. It’s nice that all prongs are adjustable however they are loose and also FAIL half the time, it also claimed a plastic cup and steak knife, description boasts of being able to dry even plastics without worry because of the hidden heating element. For the exorbitant price I paid (even on sale), I’d expect this LG dishwasher to at the very least clean! Be a everything is still wet even on “Extra Dry” setting, this is a mold machine waiting to happen. This dishwasher does not perform as well as the company’s description boasts.
