Why is our unit reaching the set temperature, then shutting off and not coming back on? It is very hot outside, 100 degrees+
          ByAug 1, 2024
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Hey there. The portable LG A/C unit may shut off due to the extremely hot weather outside. In such conditions, the A/C may cycle on and off more frequently to prevent overheating. To address this issue, you can try the following troubleshooting steps: 1. Check for any obstructions blocking the front of the air conditioner, such as curtains, blinds, or furniture, which may restrict airflow. 2. Increase the set temperature to a level higher than the current temperature to prevent the room from becoming too cold and triggering the unit to shut off. 3. If the air filter is dirty, clean it at least every two weeks to maintain proper airflow and cooling efficiency. If this persists, private message us on social media @LGUSSupport with your contact details. We'll be happy to continue finding a solution. ^David

My unit seems to be accumulating an excessive amount of water, the collection pan is not full, and water is leaking out from the bottom of the unit. We are not in a high-humidity area and we run the unit in the cool mode. I can see water through the vent.

            Answer This Question

Hey there Kaycee! Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. The air conditioner seems to leak water from the bottom, even though the collection pan is incomplete and you're running the unit in a cool mode in a low-humidity area. Let's troubleshoot this issue: 1. Check Air Filter: Make sure the air filter is clean and not obstructed. A dirty filter can cause the unit to freeze and lead to water leakage. 2. Drainage: Verify that the drainage system is functioning properly and not clogged, as this can cause water to accumulate and leak from the unit. 3. Cooling Coils: If the cooling coils are iced over, it can prevent the air conditioner from properly cooling the room and lead to water leakage. Set the mode control at High Fan or High Cool to defrost the coils. 4. Remote Control Range: Ensure the remote control is within 20 feet and 120° radius of the front of the unit for accurate temperature sensing. 5. Obstructions: Remove any obstructions that may be blocking the airflow around the air conditioner. Let us know if you have any other questions. - Anthony

              Answer This Question

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand that the filter indicator light on your LG LP0621WSR Portable Air Conditioner is on, even though the filter appears to be clean. Once again, LG lives up to its reputation.
I want to portable air conditioning unit that I could set up and not worry about. Thus, I sought out a dependable name like LG. This product has lived up to its name in its ability to do what it promises. And provide a worry, free experience. It cools the room quickly and efficiently and maintains the temperature on its own. I would hardly recommend this unit to others.

Broke a few months outside of warranty.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was good for a year and then a few months past warranty the intake fan got misaligned (hadn't moved the unit for months) and ended up cutting through the black plastic backing and then broke off a few blades. Now it blows out cold air for a few mins but switches to hot air as I guess it overheats.

DO NOT BUY! FIRE HAZARD! Just got this today. Holes in box and bottom of the box was wet. Plugged it in and sparks and flames shot out the wall. Im disabled and 81 years old but Home Depot wont take this back unless I bring it to the store. So Home Depot is now selling hazardous items and wont let you return. DO NOT BUY! FIRE HAZARD! This is how it was left at my door as well.

It's a nice smaller size and works well in a small office. More quiet than our expectations which is fantastic (at least on low fan speed)! All parts were included and install was straight forward and easy.

I bought this unit less than a month ago and love it for our upstairs kids room. We have our home HVAC but it never can cool the upstairs enough. Issue solved with our new LG. Perfect size and easy to set up!

A feature that allows dehumidifying, just in case. The installation was as easy as pie with enough material to complete the job.
