My unit stopped blowing warm nor hot air. The anwer that you gave when asked why it's not heating, the answer that you gave was that the heating function on this unit is supplemental. A shocking answer. Please tell me the truth.

There is a lever for a vent open or close.... Well where is the vent and what does this do

Asked by Kal225 August 9, 2019
1
Answer

The vent lever is located behind the front grille above the control knobs on the LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW1216HR. As per the instructions on page 15 of your owner's manual, "Before installing the front grille, pull out the vent control lever located above the unit control knobs". The lever then has to be guided carefully through the grille as you push the grille in to snap it back in place. Page 18 has a description for the vent lever which opens the damper so room air can be drawn outside when the vent lever is pulled out to the 'open' position. It has to be pushed in to the 'closed' position in order to maintain the best cooling conditions...^IFV

Answer

The LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Cooling & Heating, Model # LW1216HR has to be plugged into a standard 250V, 3-wire grounding outlet protected by a 20 Amp. time delay fuse or 20 Amp. circuit breaker. Where is the drainage at ? Its been leaking in the front

Asked by June23 June 10, 2019
1
Answer

This air conditioner is equipped with a slinger fan. The fan has an outer ring that runs through the water that collects in the base pan. That condensate is then picked up by the fan and expelled onto the condenser coils, making the machine operate more efficiently. In humid weather, excess water may cause the base pan to overflow. Remove the drain cap, from the back of the cabinet, and secure a drain pipe in order to drain the excess moisture. Information about this can be found on page 19 of the owner’s manual. ^CP

Great value
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit is rated to cool about 550sq ft however our house is 1056sq ft. By closing off the bedrooms it does a nice job of cooling the kitchen, dinning room and living room. When it is over 100 degrees out side it keeps our area just right when we set it at 77 degrees. We use the auto setting and it works great. By installing the unit according to the instructions we have no vibration, you must use the supplied rubber cushion/strip and when the unit is on the high speed the noise is minimal, after all a unit of this size will not be totally quiet. Once installed we turned it on and it worked perfectly and cooled down the area quickly. If you have replaced your windows I strongly suggest that you look at the installation instructions on LG's web site very carefully. In our case we had to remove the lower window completely, it lifted right out, as the unit filled the space. The two window sill brackets, outside, were way to short and I had to cut two 2X4's to make a custom fit. If you are handy with tools you can install this unit in no time, the great feature is that the case can be separated from the unit making it very easy to install and fasten down the case first then slide in the unit. You should have a nice looking and secure unit.

Great unit
The unit works well. I did have a problem with the alluvial fan inside. 3 of the 5 blades were broken before we installed it. The box and cover for the unit were undamaged but the fan already was. With LG customer service, the process of contacting a repairman and getting the repair made was exceptional. That was the only problem and it was resolved both quickly and professionally.

Product is just what we needed
We bought this unit to replace one just like it that we had for about five years. This unit, like the one before it, works just as it was described. A simple cleaning of the filter and unit maintains it working. It easily changes from AC to Heat and in our Texas weather, that is pretty often. It makes the transition without hesitation and it very sufficiently cools/ heats a garage that was converted onto a man cave.

Really nice unit!
I bought this unit back in July and it does a wonderful job keeping my workout room cool in the summer and warm in the winter. No regrets here - glad I selected this unit.

Great product
We bought this because our old unit was over 30yrs old and the heater went out in it. This new unit is a blessing with the cold weather coming, I have a small house and it keeps my house very warm.

Horrible
After 15 months, the unit stopped working. The a/c and heater doesn’t work, might be fan related. Very unhappy with this LG product.

Convenience in one unit!
I purchased these units for my rental properties to serve our fluctuating temperatures in the Houston weather! It’s great and easy to use. Our days can start with low temperatures at 35degrees and by noon it’s 70degrees!
by Pakmayo
Bought this unit for a 16x30 unfinished cabin that I’m living in while working on it. I have insulation on all the walls but ceiling is unfinished. I’m on a prepay account right now and this unit has cut my bill in half and is very efficient in keeping it cool even in the Texas heat!! I’m now using the heater which keeps it nice and toasty but the usage is quite high and doubled my bill. Not bad until it gets down Below 40 degrees. There is a slight rattle from the fan not super loud but in a small area might bother some light sleepers it doesn’t bother me. Great unit for the price have used all the modes fan speeds and timer all work perfectly. Would purchase again.
