When the specifications list Linear Compressor - Inverter, what it means is that the type of compressor in the refrigerator is a Smart Inverter Compressor. The correct Estimated Yearly Electricity Use for the refrigerator is 501 kWh as shown on the Energy Guide that comes attached to the refrigerator...^Ivan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is a beautiful frig very large and clean looking. The capacity is very good which is the reason we bought it.. Poor lighting design where it makes it difficult to find things in the cave.. Shelving was flimsy and cracked in just over a year.year. our last frig was perfectly fine except we updated our kitchen and changed to stainless steel. Miss the lighting, ease of cleaning and the study shelves. Dont know if the shelves were damaged in shipping or a poor design but for a retired couple with no kids in the house to stress test the shelving disappointed that in less than 1 1/2 years we may have to replace the components at our cost.

After 9 months, so far, so good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 9 months, so far, so good. Have had 2 issues and would have given it 5 stars if the 2 issues didn't happen within 1 year:
1. Refrigerator door seal had a tear in the upper left corner, repaired by LG, must remember to open the door at the top of the door, not the side. Very easy to replace the seal.
2. The freezer shelf is bowing & got a replacement. Several people have mentioned that the shelves are not that strong & I agree. The repair folks said that the freezer shelf bow was not covered by any warranty, but LG overrode and sent me one. See the attached picture of a straight edge against the shelf. We don't put too much on this shelf either.
3. The linear compressor reliability is well discussed, but the warranty of 5-10 years is great.
Other than that, it's got amazing space, love the top freezer over a bottom, super quiet, easy on energy consumption. I also moved the deli drawer-shelf up 1 shelf so I could get a better visible on what's on the lower shelf

Throwaway….
The freezer is operational. The fridge temp climbs to 50 plus degrees. Can’t find an appliance repair shop that will service it. Problem is the auto defrost isn’t functioning causing excessive frost build up on the coils. I take the back panel out of the freezer and defrost with a hair dryer. The unit functions properly for another week. Considering that it’s only three years old, you wouldn’t expect this. Piece of throwaway garbage….

Worst Refridgerator
We purchased an LTCS24223W LG fridge
.
Last month the refrigerator itself started getting warmer and warmer. The freezer still maintains cold temps. I defrosted the refrigerator, cleaned out the coils in the back, and the fan appears to still be working. The refrigerator still reads 51 degrees.
In addition, the refrigerator has been a complete disappointment. Many problems. The paint on the surface chips, the door dents easily, and the inside shelves broke. All in the first year. We did not complain because at least the refrigerator kept cold.
This is unacceptable for a 4 year old refrigerator.

Awesome Fridge
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best features for this size fridge. I wanted LED lights in the freezer also in addition to fridge part. Only LG offered that light. The door bins are great, perfect size and closed bottom design. I hated the items falling off the fridge and freezer doors on my fridge that just died after 18 years because just a bar keep items on the door. There was always too much room under the bar to hold items on the door. Not so on LG! LG has a complete bottom part on the bins to hold everything in. This LTCS24223S version also has an ice maker pre-installed. Perfect for me. I got it just in time before the new model added a water dispenser and filter inside the fridge compartment. They take up valuable space. Thank God I did not wait. I keep this one in my garage to replace the previous Kenmore. It cooled down very well - look at my impromptu temp log I kept to see how fast it cooled. Very impressed so far. I read the previous compressor problems seems to have been fixed with an updated design in DEC2017.
