The LG Electronics 5.8 cu. ft. Smart Wi-Fi Enabled Fan Convection Gas Single Oven Range with AirFry and EasyClean in Stainless Steel by LG Electronics basically checks (almost) all the boxes for every kitchen - gourmet or not. I grew up with gas ranges and still prefer them. The convection setting is a plus for almost anyone. I don't think I can live without it anymore, especially when one's turkey does not defrost fast enough for Thanksgiving Day dinner. I love, love, love having a simmer burner and high output burner. Those burners are the ones I used all the time unless I have more than 2 pots or pans. All the burner knobs have diagrams to tell you where that particular burner is located on the range top. Kind of standard now but I still like to point those out. The burners all click on during the ignition step after you push them in, turn to left to high and then you can turn down to medium or low if you like. All burners lit every time I turned them on without any hiccups or pauses. The 5th (oblong) burner is definitely a perk along with the shape of it. Perfect for those drippings from a roasting pan that you make gravy with, instead of transferring them to another pot. The 5th burner also has a separate griddle which sits right on top of the grates. Although the griddle is not terribly wide, you can still make fried eggs, stir-fry vegetables, hot dogs/sausages, hamburgers, cutlets, and on and on. It's not full-size pancake- or multiple meal-worthy but definitely a nice perk. There are only 3 burner grates - each cover 2 burners (front to back) and a separate 1 for the 5th burner- and they, along with the 5 burner griddle are all cast oven and sturdy. Additionally, the grates are quite large (and tall) which then holds the pots/pans not only at a nice height above the actual burner but then they are also closer to the cook. I really like this feature a lot! It's not that I'm tall because I am not but now I don't have to lean down over the pots and pans so much when cooking. And because the grates cover the whole range cooktop and not just individual burners, pots can be moved around the cooktop very easily without having to pick them up off the grates. Yea! The cast iron grates really give this cooktop a very high-end look and feel. The shiny black cooktop is also one large area instead of 4 (or 5) separate burner areas. This makes for better and easier cleaning and a more consistent look, adding to its high-end appeal. The control panel is a bit disappointing because it doesn't have a number keypad. So when selecting the oven temperature, the timer function or when setting the clock, you have to use the + or - keys. Sorry but I find this to be a big negative. Probably just me but for all the other perks this range comes with, I think there could have been a number keypad in this panel. The LED numbers in the control panel, though, are quite large and bright; they can easily be seen from a distance.
The oven has a gorgeous blue interior - makes it seem even more luxurious. And the oven is so spacious - wow! No problem getting that holiday turkey in this oven. Just like the burners, the oven turns right on and seems to heat up fairly quickly to the desired temperature. Cooking and baking in the oven was consistent and I have not found any cold spots inside. Cookies and brownies were all baked thoroughly with no uncooked dough left. The oven door has a huge window too so once you switch on the light (on the control panel), there shouldn't be much need to open the oven door instead (especially since you're never supposed to but still occasionally do - old habits die hard!). The oven shelves/grates move back and forth very easily but then again, it is a brand new oven. On that same note, I have not used the Easy Clean or the self clean functions yet. But the Easy Clean is definitely intriguing - just spray some water before setting it on, takes only 10 minutes, and no high heat or noxious cleaners necessary. I may not have to use the self clean setting so often because of it and would be a plus in the summer for sure. The stainless steel gets dirty or smudgy fairly easy - not what I would consider to be fingerprint proof. However, the stainless does clean up much better/easier; I don't see the streaking or any residue after cleaning/wiping it and I'm certainly happy about that. But here's another big negative for me - the storage drawer is not only small (probably because of the large oven?) but super flimsy/cheap. Not impressed with it. And when needing to level the oven's rear feet once sitting on the anti-tip bracket, the drawer first has to be unscrewed to be removed - it doesn't just pull out. This is how I found out that the drawer was very flimsy Additionally, the drawer is covered on the exterior sides with grease and the exterior metal edges are very sharp metal and can cut skin very easily. Take it from someone who discovered both of those the hard way.
Another negative for me is despite the oven is marketed as having an air fry feature, do know before you get too excited - the Air Fry tray is sold separately; it is not included with the range. This Air Fry tray has been sold out/backordered since the Fall from LG. I can't even find a price for it online. So not sure when I'll be using it unless I Rube Goldberg something. No broiler pan and tray is included with the range either. I haven't used the ThinQ or wi-fi features yet so I am unable to comment on those but they sure do look like fun, even for this old, tough bird who loves technology!
Overall, I'd still select this oven again and I do recommend it but I wish LG would change a few (or all) of my negatives into positives. I still think you'll like this oven though.
