7.4 cu. ft. White Ultra Large Capacity Electric Dryer with Sensor Dry

I got both the dryer and washer I just absolutely I love my new dryer. I did my research before purchasing. The products are well engineered and the programming is top grade. Please accept my congratulations for your wonderful products.

I am drying a load of clothes while writing this review. Get It Dry the First Time The Sensor Dry system measures the moisture levels during the cycle and automatically adjusts the drying time to help ensure you get dry laundry. The best thing I like is that even rthough it has alot of features it is still simple to operate.

The dryer was delivered with the door opening to the right. The door is supposed to open to the left. Can I change the hinge so the door opens to the left like its supposed to?

I owned a Whirlpool dryer prior to owning the LG dryer. The Whirlpool dryer was about as basic as it comes for dryer features. The LG dryer is the complete opposite. It has several features along with bells and whistles that appears intimidating at first, but when you actually use it, the user interface is very user friendly. There are some features that I don’t see myself using much if at all. For example, there is a feature to download a cycle from the internet and upload it to the dryer. Maybe there is another benefit to this that I haven’t discovered, but as of now, this is a feature that will likely get little use. The size of the dryer is consistent with your typical dryer size. What is deceiving (in a good way) is how large the actual drum is once you open the door and look inside. I attempted to capture this in a photo included in the review. Prior to writing this review, I did two laundry cycles and have zero complaints. Compared to my previous dryer, the LG dryer isn’t nearly as loud. Having the sensing technology be accurate is another plus. This not only saves energy, but saves time because it isn’t a timer. When it senses the clothes are dry, it will turn off. If you have connected the dryer to your phone, you will get a notification that your clothes are dry. For someone that is scatterbrained like myself, this comes in handy. The only part of the dryer that could be a potential issue would be the door. Surprisingly it is made of glass. It looks really slick. The issue I see is someone accidentally slamming the door against a wall when it is opened. Don’t get me wrong, the door feels like it is built as heavy duty as they come, but this would be the one potential issue I could see other customers having. In no way would this be a deal breaker because there are so many other great features that LG incorporated in the dryer that you will be very happy when you purchase it from Home Depot.

This LG clothes dryer does not just have a large capacity - it dries quickly a large capacity. I did have the LG gas dryer and made the change to the electric. It was just a personal choice. It is large enough to dry a queen size bed spread, saving me a lot of money at the dry cleaners. I have a few other LG products and have been very pleased with all of them. The only thing that I would change about the dryer is to make the chime/tune when it stops louder since my laundry room is so far away from the living area of my house. Exceeds my expectations.

Elegant in looks and simplicity of operation. This is the first new laundry appliance I've bought in quite a few years. I must say, I'm impressed with the fit, finish and ease of operation with this unit. Operation is simple and intuitive - my 94yo father is not the least bit intimidated with its operation. The filter is convenient and easy to clean and replace. The capacity is terrific... more than we actually need but helps give air space to the clothes being dried. The installer was also able to change the left-hung door to a right-hung to fit our laundry-room configuration. It does a great job on clothes - even my moisture-wicking socks that never seemed to fully dry with our previous drier.

First let me say I was extremely disappointed that this dryer does not have an interior light. I can't understand why, (my last 3 dryers, including an LG all had interior lights). It just makes it easier to see what you are unloading, hence the 4 stars for features. Otherwise it is a good dryer. I especially like the speed dry feature. I found the sensor dry feature may sense that the bulk of the load is dry, but some parts, such as waistbands, are still damp. That doesn't bother me, but it might bother some people. The extra .4 cu ft in size, compared to my previous dryer, really makes a big difference. I can easily fit a king size comforter and it actually has room tumble. The lint filter is easy to access.

Changing out our old dryer (25+ years) to this new dryer was a bit of an adjustment, as the old one was push button and this one all digital. But after reading and re-reading the owner’s manual several times and some trial and error I was able to figure it out. My first issue was the owner’s manual is for 8 different but similar dryers and you must make sure you are reading about the model you have. It was a bit confusing and it took some focusing on it to make sense of it. I had problems switching it from energy saver to the AI, which is the first feature I wanted to try out. It would just beep at me (not toggling) and the LG tech support (chat only, I did not try the phone option) was not able to help with this, but after several personal attempts (pushing buttons, turning the knob) I was able to solve the problem. The manual says that it has to be in “normal” mode to switch between modes (energy saver/AI), but I found out that you have to be in BOTH normal mode on the dryer knob setting AND normal mode on the touchpad menu at the same time. Only then will it allow you to toggle back and forth on the modes (ES/AI). It comes pre-set for energy saver as a default, but I would think it would be better to set the AI as the default since it is the main feature of this dryer (in my humble opinion). Once I got the settings sorted, I was able to test the different modes to see which one worked best for me, with the energy saver mode the drying time for a few towels was 57 minutes and with the AI mode the drying time was 41 minutes. The lint remover is easily removable and cleaned, and I can monitor the dryer via the app, along with the pleasant tones emitted from the dryer when it is done, turning on/off and the damp dry signal when the clothes are 80% dry so I can remove the clothes prior to wrinkling. Overall, I truly am thoroughly impressed and happy with the dryer itself. The features that drew me to this dryer far exceed the initial learning curve, like the ability to swap which way the door opens, the sleek and easily maintainable stainless steel finish, easy lint remover (and sensors to notify you if there is a buildup), the ability to monitor the dryer via the phone app (ThinQ), the large drum to accommodate even large bedspreads, the quiet operation, and multiple drying pre-set options along with the ability to set it manually, or to download another additional pre-set option from the app (12 more like blankets, full load dry, denim etc.). The two biggest and best options for my needs are the AI and the wrinkle mode. I like that the dryer senses the type of clothes that needs to be dried and adjusts the time and temperature accordingly, and the wrinkle mode that keeps tossing the clothes from time to time to keep the clothes from wrinkling (up to 3 hours) so it gives me extra time to get back to and unload the dryer and have wrinkle free clothes.

This is a very nice dryer, with a number of drying options and a good deal of capacity for drying your laundry. While it gives you a number of pre-set options (delicates, normal, "heavy" for things like dungarees), the controls also allow you to set the time and heat levels. I'm finding the manual settings a bit preferable to the pre-set options, because it does have a tendency to not fully dry bulky items or normal loads if there's a stray towel or pair of jeans in there. I'm definitely a fan of the lint screen on this dryer--it accesses just inside the door, pulls out easily, and is easy to clean off. It's nice having a tempered glass door on there, but I'm not sure it's a necessary feature. I guess it allows you to see if the kids remembered to take out their clothes without having to open the dryer.

Wow, is my dryer on? Was that the cutest chime telling me it was finished? Yes, this dryer is quite an upgrade for us. I'm really enjoying the environmental thoughts applied to reduce energy and resources, the smart sensor is a great idea. The color, the design and the function all receive A+ ratings from me. I was leary to stray away from the long standing brands of washers and dryers but I have trusted LG to buy TV's in my home and so far this LG washer is proving itself! I hope this dryer lasts for years to come and that maintenance of the computer parts is still something that can be DIYed by regular home owners. The dryer is easy to use, and to run and I even noticed a reduction in static. I can also fit large comforters with ease and this makes laundry so much more enjoyable.
