I am trying to figure out the clearance on the bottom, specifically where the deepest part of the cooktop is. The spec sheet says the height is 3.75". Is that only where the plug/conduit comes out? Do you have a photo of the bottom showing the plug?

AnswerAll the given dimensions for the LG STUDIO 30” Electric Cooktop, Model # LSCE305ST or for any of our products are taken from the parts that protrude or stick out the most on the product so the given height of 3 3/4" is from the bottom of the cooktop to the cooktop surface. The installation instructions on page 24 of the owner's manual caution that "It is very important to keep 2 3/4” (70 mm) distance between the cooktop and the oven. We do not have any pictures of the bottom of the unit showing where the power cord exits the unit. This unit does not have a plug. It has to be hardwired to a junction box. Page 23 of the owner's manual has illustrated diagrams of the unit with all the dimensions that you may want to review for the installation. The instructions also state to allow 2" (50mm) space below the armored cable opening to clear the electric cable and allow space for the installation of the junction box on the wall at the back of the cooktop. The entire surface of this cooktop is covered with random silver/gray speckles. The visual effect of these speckles is the look of dirty grease splatter. This is reason enough to give zero stars for this product.

I decided not buy LG after reading the reviews
I’m afraid to buy LG appliances, after all the reviews regarding the customer support and the cooktop. I’m not happy to seeing how the current customers are reacting to the product and services.
Sad, because I’m looking for a good quality cooktop to replace my GE, but after this information I decided to keeping my old GE cooktop.
I hope LG take care of those people who are not happy about that they apparently don’t have a good customer support and satisfaction in the end of the day.

Ripping people off
My husband bought a similar one January of 2020, 9 months later it would not turn on, turns out the control center didn’t work. After countless of call to LG they sent someone who was pressing me to buy parts I did not need to fix. When I call LG demanding they send someone else, the guy ordered the parts and when a different technician came to fix it the wrong part was ordered. 2 days later after the technician was gone I notice big crack in the glass splitting it in 2 pieces. 5 months since I reported the cooktop not working I am still waiting for it to be fix. I would not recommend anyone buying LG product and I no longer buying at home depot either.
