I would do this. Buy a surge protector , you can buy one very reasonable at HD, I did. Plug it it in at the end of cord where the sensitive electronics would be plugged in, this will stop any generator surges that might occur when additional appliances, etc. might cause a surge in voltage due to startups.
It is supposed to take 20oz of SAE 10W30 oil. You must fill it to the rim where, if on a level surface, the oil nearly spills out. Otherwise, the oil-level switch could shut it down after a few seconds.
I don't see why not. As long as you don't use more than 3500 watts just be sure to use a heavy duty extention cord.
