1-Pole 4-Buttons Smart Wi-Fi Touch Light Switch, White, Works with Alexa/Hey Google/HomeKit/Siri

As someone who has used the LIFX 1-Pole 2-Buttons Smart Wi-Fi Touch Light Switch, I can attest to its impact and convenience. Being able to control my lights with a tap on my smartphone, no matter where I am, has made a huge difference in my daily routine. The switch itself is sleek and modern, adding a touch of sophistication to my home. Overall, I highly recommend this smart switch to anyone looking to simplify and enhance their lighting control.

I bought this thinking it could control two different circuits and I was wrong. It can control one circuit and then you can program the other to switch a LIFX bulb. With a LIFX bulb you can also change the color of the bulb. The app works great however I did have a hard time connecting the switch to my WiFi. I had to uninstall the app, factory reset the switch and start over. I like the functionality and look of the switch however I couldn’t get it to work with Alexa. It did work with home kit. I love the backlite with the ability to change the color.

The LIFX two button switch is great as you can control one regular light and one or more LIFX fixtures. I configured one button to control my fireplace lights, and the other to control my LIFX Beam light. You can configure whether you want to use a long press or a short press to turn on and off the lights. I’ve also configured the buttons to control different groups, but you can also configure these switches to control different scenes. I recommend fulling reading the instructions prior to deciding where and how you want to use this unique switch. Installation was fairly easy. I don’t recommend using these switches on old home wiring as they do require a neutral wire. Although it comes with a screwless wall plate, I used an existing double wall plate. Configuring the software was also easy as I already had the app from my existing LIFX light. Like other smart switches, the LIFX smart switch works with Hey Google, Alexa and even Siri. I will say that the LIFX smart switch has more options than just turning on and off a light, and I suggest researching all the available options and devices this smart switch can control.

LIFX 1-Pole 2-Buttons Smart Wi-Fi Touch Light Switch is a great looking and a big improvement from legacy switches to this. Good 1) Easy to setup and install on the wall. Clear instructions 2) App is also easy to use and setup the smart switch 3) Easy to setup schedules and scenes Bad 1) Don't know why it has two buttons, doing the same thing. In the app too I do not see a way to utilize them in different way when all you have is one switch to turn on/off a light. And its not clear on how I can extend this to other lights 2) Room organizing is awkward and weird. I named mine as office, but i see button 1 within that switch

This switch has a nice clean modern design that will fit in with nearly any decor. It is as easy as any I have had to wire up and get online with the LIFX App that is available for iOS and Android. You will have it up and running and operating remotely in only a few minutes. Setting up a schedule is another option as well as voice control from your smartphone. It comes with a snap in place screwless switch plate that adds to the sleekness of the installations appearance. The only "However" I have on this switch is that you must use it in a location that has a neutral wire. It will function on an end loop circuit where what is white and designated as a neutral wire has been redesignated also as a hot wire and used inline to break the circuit with both wires hooked to the HOT in the junction box. There is technology for wifi switches that does not require a neutral and this is not one of them.

I thought that this light switch would control two normal lights or devices. I was wrong. It can control one regular light and one or more LIFX devices. Fortunately, I already had a LIFX Beam smart light. Each button is configurable, with single (short) press, double press and long press options. There are also options to adjust the haptic feedback, backlight color and brightness of the backlight. I configured my switch to have the top button to control the ceiling light on a single press and the LIFX Beam light on the bottom button. I also configured long press for each button to turn on both the ceiling light and the LIFX Beam light. You can also configure the buttons to control groups, locations or scenes. So, with 3 press options for each button and device, group, location and scenes options makes this switch very flexible. Physical installation was relatively easy, but a neutral wire is required. It also came with a screwless wall plate. Software configuration was a snap since I already had a LIFX light. This smart switch works with Alexa, Hey Google and Siri. I was surprised that after configuring the switch, Alexa sent me a notification that it was automatically added to Alexa's devices. Now I can control my ceiling light with my voice and the switch. This switch also comes in black and LIFX has a 4 button model that comes in white or black. I really like that I can control the color and brightness of the backlight. Since I have this installed in my bedroom, I didn't want the backlight to be very bright. I also like that I can control the ceiling light by voice and by switch (I sometimes forget and turn off the switch to smart light bulbs, rendering them useless). I wished that it could control 2 separate non-LIFX devices. In particular, my ceiling fan and the ceiling light.

As many I initially thought that this device can control 2 independent electrical circuits similarly to a pair of single pole switches installed into single gang outlet. It can do this but only when it controls LIFX smart bulbs. They are wired to be always under power, so tiny Wi-Fi circuit inside could talk to LIFX cloud. Both buttons could send command messages inpedendently over the intenret to turn on/off 2 different groups of LIFX bulbs. Or 1 button can be used as a switch and another as a color changer. Buttons can be also configured to work as a dimmer control if LIFX bulb supports it. I'm planning to get 2 LIFX smart bulbs to use them with this switch in first floor bathroom. In addition this smart switch also has old school load wire to hookup non-LIFX lighting fixtures. My idea to use buttons to radio control constantly powered LIFX bulbs and load wire to control exhaust fan in that bathroom. Both lights and fan used to be controlled before by a single dumb switch. I'm planning to hot wire bulbs and put fan on physical switch in this device, so both lights and fan will work in concert. Currently I'm using it as regular switch to power both fan and lightning fixture together. While switch doesn't run timer on board you can use IFTTT to shut it off after sometime. My kids constantly forget to turn off the light and exhaust fan could run hours in winter. IFTTT would say that triggers are not supported by this device but you can trigger timer-on event from Google Home and IFTTT will send turn-off event to switch after time out. It was easy to install and connect this switch to Wi-FI. App immediately offered firmware update that went flawlessly. Most of the app features like scenes or dimmer are tied up to smart bulbs. Actual dimming circuit is embedded to each bulb so you can safely run fan motors off the load wire. Internally switch circuit uses solenoid relay to power the load. App allows to change color and intensity of the switch pilot light. While cover plate is included regular (multi-gang) covers fit perfectly. Switch has low profile and easily fits into standard depth electrical outlet boxes.

This outlet plug is a great concept for sure! It does have a lot of wires and myself and an my handy man were unable to install it - I may just need to find a different electrician to figure it out as I have a fairly old home. I could not figure out where all the extra wires connected to. It was rather frustrating to say the least. I am hoping it gets installed soon tho
