Thank you for your interest in our products. LP SmartSide Panel with SilverTech is a panel designed to be used on a shed our outer building. It is a SmartSide panel with foil laminated to the back side. This helps to brighten up the interior of the shed as well as reflecting back the sun's rays to help keep the shed cooler.
LP SmartSide with SilverTech is for sheds only. Products used for homebuilding need to be approved for that purpose.
Thank you for your interest in our products. LP SmartSide Panels with SilverTech are available in 4' x 8' and 4 x 10' sizes. We do not make this panel in a 4' x 9' size. If you would like the larger size, you can place a special order at the Pro Desk.
LP has not tested and approved the SilverTech panel for use in residential applications. It was designed specifically for sheds (accessory structures) based off code requirements for accessory structures vs dwellings. Also, you would be paying more for a product that offers the radiant barrier and reflective surface and those attributes would be negated if installed in a close wall assembly. Lastly, the radiant barrier requires an air gap in front of the silver coating to function properly. LP’s recommendation would be to install strand substrate panel siding (38 or 76 series). If you choose to install the product in a residential application, LP would not warrant the product if any issues were to surface since we state, “for non-residential use only”.
