AnswersOnly for residential applications where you would insulate and finish the interior of the building. For shed applications where you are not insulating or applying drywall you do not need a moisture barrier before having the siding.

Can you install this product as a backsplash behind a sink without it wicking moisture?

AnswersThis product should NOT be used in high moisture areas including splash areas, or in close proximity to groundwater splash. IF you ar going for the vertical groove panel look, try using a cement board siding product like James Hardie panel. It will handle splash and moisture without harmful effects. Follow Mfg instructions for sealing or painting this product.

Economical means of replacing some rotten siding.....fit for purpose and looks great. Installed horitontally (instead of vertically as recommended my manufacturer) but should hold up fine. Did the same 12 years ago and that siding is still going strong.

It may not be the strongest ply out there but it's good enough for most projects. It comes primed which is amazing and saves hours. It's tongue and groove which is another plus. I can't really think of any downsides to this thing it's awesome!

I used these panels for three different projects so far. I sided a gazebo, wood shed and beach house. I installed the panels myself. They are are easy to cut and install. Once painted or stained, the siding looks amazing. It is now going on 4 years since installation and it still looks great. Make sure to follow the installation instructions. I am now considering replacing my vinyl siding on my house with this. I live on the lake and it looks so much more natural in my environment. Highly recommend this product.

Purchased and installed on a shed. Was very easy to install and we also made the door out of this product. Put a couple coats of paint on it and it looks great. The product is great quality and the price is very reasonable.

Bought this last year for rework of our self contained studio. Fantastic product and fairly easy to work with. Yes, one has to pay attention to align the seams but other than that, it is easy. One thing of note on our studio we used Dri-wall mesh underneath to provide venting and nailed this product through the Dri-wall mesh into the sheathing. See pic below for finished studio. So far, we are really happy with this product and its a great bang for the buck when you consider other similar products. We wanted something that is easy maintenance. Yes, we painted the panels with exterior type paint. Note the facia boards and corner/trim boards are also all LP SmartSide. Highly recommend it!
