Was not aware that the color display only stays lit when connected to plug in. I prefer to use the batt system to alleviate more cords.

Battery usage is excessive. Must change batteries every 22 to 23 days. Have notified LaCrosse Tech. and awaiting reply. My Model No. is 308-1417. This model doesn't have a plug in attachment, only is battery operated.

Nice if u like a black power cord!
Nice product well packaged (u need a screw driver to remove 2 screws from the box) But note: it plugs into the wall to power the back lighted display! The unit will work off of the 3 AAA batteries, but no way to touch a button to activate the display without having to remove the unit from the wall. The person who designed this did not put very much thought into the end user. I do not know of many people that paint walls black, so why a black power cord, white would have been a better choice. Black control buttons on the front to activate the display when needed would have been a better approach and would eliminate the 5v AC power supply for customers that do not want a AC power cord hanging down from the wall like the 70's. Note the unit does run off of 3 AAA batteries and works well with all functions of date, time and weather.

Disappointed
Not what I expected from Lacrosse. The power cord will not stay plugged in to the side of the unit. When its not plugged in, the display shuts off. So if you want to see it you have to get up and push a button that will wake it up for 10 seconds. Not what I want to have to do. And the display has a very narrow field of view. You literally have to be directly in front of it to see it. Take one step to the side and you cant see a thing. It took weeks to get any response from Lacrosse customer service and when we did they said they were not surprised and that these were known issues.
Also, I'd like to see the actual barometric pressure, not a generic bar graph with an arrow pointing up or down.

Very Nice Weather Station
Very nice weather station. Good name brand. The only drawback is the screen washes out when you view it straight on. The best view is looking down at the screen. Overall this was a good buy and I would recommend it.

I really like all the features on this weather station. The only thing I miss from my old one is hi and low for the day otherwise great item
It does take several weeks for it to ajust to your area/home. Mine was purchased early march and appears to now be ajusting to rain sun clouds in area.

Do not recommend
The first time I bought this, there was a problem with the AC adaptor, so the screen kept flashing on and off (very annoying). We returned and bought a new one. The second time we purchased, the outdoor sensor was broken. We replaced the batteries a few times but the red light would never even come on (the test light). The third time we bought, is the one we have now. The display is beautiful and I really love the layout and set up, but the item has been saying it's raining the past few days when we had sun, or cloudy when there is sun. Temperature is accurate. We might still take this back if it keeps saying rain when it is sunny. I would not recommend this unit or this company. I am very disappointed.
