Hi Rita. I'm 5'5" tall and this chair swallows me up. It is very deep . The recline handle is very close to the floor so this may be a stretch for a shorter person. Hope this helps.

Chair will come in 2 pieces. The seat and the backing. You will have to slide the backing into the 2 tracks ( one on each side ) until you hear a distinctive click telling you it's locked in. It looks a lot like when you put a drawer back into it's tracks except it will lock into place when you hear the click. Make sure you push in a downward motion until you hear the click noise.

This Basically has 3 positions. All the way down, Pull the handle and all the way up , and when you recline the foot rest will go a little higher. The chair will not recline if the handle is not pulled all the way and the foot rest is activated.
