I did not see any references to where this product is manufactured, however, the manual says it is PRINTED in China.

what's actual oscillation range for this model? 30degree? 90degree?

Asked by Lynn April 21, 2021

Answers

More like 60 degrees. We bought it last night and it barely oscillated. Nothing was wrong with the oscillation, it's just that it is designed with a limited oscillation range. In addition, the amount of air output is dismal. You have to be sitting right next to it to feel it.

how many cfm of this tower fan?

Asked by Lo April 19, 2021

Answer

It seems Lasko does not rate their tower fans by CFM. I recommend contacting Lasko at 800-233-0268 from 8AM to 5PM ET weekdays to speak with a representative. I have no interments for measuring CFM. In my estimation only, CFM is no less than 600 CFM on high speed and possibly somewhat greater. This fan produces a very good amount of air flow even on low speed due to its long squirrel cage fan. Average tower fan CFM will generally fall around 500 CFM.

Can the fan blade /structure inside be cleaned? Or only by vacuum/swifter from external?

Excellent question. There are screws around the back of the fan and it looks like it can be de-constructed. But to save time it will probably be best to use a vacuum.

This fan is worth the price. It has 4 speed control settings. Plus, it oscillates (rotates left and right). I have not tried the timer at this time, but I'm sure it works well. My happy place is in bed and the remote control is great. I'm sure I forgot something, but I have no complaints.

The Lasko Brand, Xtra Air 48 in. Oscillating Tower Fan with Nighttime Setting and Remote Control ...
The Lasko Brand, Xtra Air 48 in. Oscillating Tower Fan with Nighttime Setting and Remote Control is very easy to assemble and moves a lot of air, even on the low setting due to its tall height and long internal fan blades. The fan oscillates about 30-degrees, sufficient for our bedroom, while some rooms might benefit from a wider angle of oscillation. The fan blades themselves are very quiet. The fan motor however seems to emanate a hum similar to 60 hertz AC current. The hum its self is masked when the fan is operated on high speed, however, on the lowest speed, the hum is quite prevalent since the fan blades themselves make no sound, nor the rushing air from the fan housing. There is just this noticeable hum we did not hear from our 8-year-old tower fan before it stopped working. The night setting that also dims the display 50-percent, makes no sense to us. In order to benefit from a dimmed display at night, not illuminating our bedroom, the fan starts on high speed and over several hours reduces to low speed. Given the robust airflow on low speed, we would prefer using and staring the fan on low speed at night. The motor hum, the bright display in the bedroom is just a distraction to us despite the robust air flow from this tall tower fan. I think this fan makes a better livening area fan than a bedroom fan. I rate the fan down on it bright display at night and motor hum on low speed and up for its robust air flow, even on low speed.

This is a really tall fan but it does not take up a lot of space and it is light enough to move from room to room (13 lbs) and is very nice looking. I got this fan as I have a sunroom that is three walls of windows and even with the drapes drawn in the summer it gets quite warm out there. I sort of expected the fan to blow a little stronger on the high setting (#4) but I think it will still do a good job. The unit was very easy to assemble and I like the controls being at eye level and the remote is always a nice feature since there is a slot at the back of the unit to hang the remote and not have to go seaching for it and it came with a really nice long cord - no need for any extension cords. I'm not quite sure I'm understanding their special blue safety plug that is on the unit. They state on their warning label, "If the fan does not function it may be due to the safety device incorporated in this plug". So, like, what do you do then? Return the unit to Lasko for repair or replacement? It does have a one year warranty and this is an item for me that will only be used during the warmer weather, not year round. In the winter weather I have one of their heaters that does a very good job of keeping the sunroom warm.

I really like this space-saver fan. It has a base footprint of 12.5 inches in diameter, so it can be easily placed in a corner or some other small space. It stands 48 inches tall. It has four speeds (1: Low, 2: Med, 3: Med-Plus, 4: High). It is simple to operate. FEATURES I LIKE: - Easy to assemble. Can be easily dis-assembled and stored in its original box for off-season storage. - Has round plastic base 12.5 inches in diameter - Hand-held remote with stowing hook & socket so you can “park the remote” when not in use. Remote requires two AAA Batteries --- Batteries NOT included. - Four speeds (4, 3, 2, 1) - Quiet; even when on the highest fan speed (4) - Convenient carrying handle (see pictures). - Light weight—about 13+ lbs. Easy to move/relocate to other parts of the house - Moves air at 550 CFM - Power consumption: 50 Watts - Simple to operate. - Easy to understand instructions. - Easy to understand remote/control panel buttons (remote & front panel control buttons are identical. - Oscillation setting lets you set the fan to oscillate through an arc of about 45 degrees. - Countdown timer feature that lets you set the fan to run for 1 to 8 hrs (1 hr increments), then shuts off automatically. - Nighttime feature that auto-decreases the fan speed each hour (i.e. speed 4,3,2,1) and also dims the control panel lights - Good value - Lasko is an American Company (since 1906) FEATURE SHORTFALLS: I could find any feature shortfalls or issues with this unit. This is a great unit. It’s quiet, easy to operate, and has a small footprint. The countdown timer, nighttime setting, and oscillation features are all a definite bonus.

This is a nice fan with some really nice features. For starters, the only assembly on arrival is the base and that just snapes together and then twists onto the base. It really couldn't be easier. I teach and will be using it in my classroom as the weather heats up. It is tall enough to not get blocked by desks, students, etc. It has a remote which is very convenient. It has a carrying handle making it easy to move around the room. The fan is well protected so things like fingers, pencils, etc. won't get inside. It has multiple fan speeds and on all but level 4 it was really quiet. Level 4 was not loud but loud enough because it is moving a lot of air. It can be stationary or oscilate with the touch of a button so no levers to pull or twist like my old one. It as a timer so you can set it to run and then shut off. In the house this would be ideal at night when you need the fan when you go to bed but don't need it when the morning air is cool. I am excited to have this fan and am very pleased with it.

LASKO XTRA AIR 48 IN. OSCILLATING TOWER FAN WITH NIGHTTIME SETTING AND REMOTE CONTROL, BLACK - Attractive and informative packaging. Fan comes assembled except for base and batteries for remote. Easy to assemble and remote functions are useful. I obtained this fan to replace a "round" pedestal oscillating fan in order to reduce fans footprint in the room. This fan looks great however the motion is not as wide and it is a bit nosier than the old fan.

This 48-inch oscillating tower fan is another outstanding product from LASKO. My wife and I have used LASKO products for many years and have found them to be very reliable and enduring. We now operate a LASKO fan in almost every room of our home during the summer months. This tall 48-inch fan runs quietly and moves a considerable amount of air. We prefer the LASKO tower fans due to their slimness and attractive design that allows them to fit into almost any room décor. This model comes with a remote control, timer, nighttime mode, oscillation, and fan speed controls. See attached photographs. Well done LASKO!

The Lasko Xtra Air 48 in. Oscillating Tower Fan is awesome. We use fans in several rooms of our house in an effort to save on our energy bills; in south Louisiana there are only a few days each year that we do not need a fan. This fan is being used to replace a 10+ year old Lasko tower fan that is worn out. The Lasko Xtra Air fan has a nice sleek look and it seems to move much more air than the old fan that it is replacing. It is super quick and easy to assemble and doesn’t require any tools. The night mode dims the LED display and lowers the fan speed (but only slightly). I was able to hide much of the power cord under the base of my old Lasko fan, but I can’t hide the power cord under the base of this new fan because the power cord exits from the back of the fan and not under/through the base. Overall this is a nice fan that can be set to deliver just the amount of air/breeze that you need with its four (4) fan speed settings. We have several Lasko fans that we are happy with; I feel that this Lasko Xtra 48inch Oscillating Fan will only add to our positive experiences with Lasko fans.

This is really a tall tower fan which works great for me since my bed sits up really high. It runs fairly quiet but the small amount of wind noise lulls me to sleep. This fan will be great for hot summer nights or for using in my stuffy office area at home. It comes with a remote control that will make it convenient to use. The display is on the front of the fan so you can see what the settings are without getting up to look at the top.
