(Note: If product is not available to order in your area that is due to nighttime temperatures. Product may not cure and/or track in late Fall and early Spring applications). Latex-ite 4.75 Gal. Color Grade Blacktop Driveway Filler/Sealer in Dark Beige is the first tinted sealant for blacktop. Color grade is a ready-to-use, low VOC, colored asphalt based sealer designed to beautify and protect your blacktop driveway with color. Color grade is a durable, tinted filler or sealer that resists hot tire pick-up, chemicals and leaves a non-skid finish. The lighter version Gray or Beige will help reduce heat buildup on your blacktop. For use on exterior blacktop only (previously sealed or unsealed). Not for use on concrete. Not for use on commercial parking lots. Check the weather and make sure no rain is forecast and it is at least 55°F at night (a cold driveway will not allow the sealer to cure properly and may track).
Approximately 400 sq. ft. to 500 sq. ft. coverage for good condition, smooth or previously sealed blacktop
Approximately 300 sq. ft. to 400 sq. ft. coverage for moderate condition, minor cracking or graying blacktop
Approximately 200 sq. ft. to 300 sq. ft. coverage for poor condition, rough or unsealed blacktop
Coverage will vary based on blacktop condition
2 coats (maximum) must be applied to achieve color uniformity completing each coat in one continuous application to prevent color shading
Make sure to check color sample image on HomeDepot.com to see actual color
Test a small area prior to coating entire driveway so you can see the color (remember you are covering black so apply 2 coats) - dark beige will dry darker than the lid color in photo - please check the color card image for actual color
Apply with squeegee (no rollers) - brushes are fine for the edges
Remember: clean your driveway thoroughly so sealer will bond and make sure you do not seal when it is cold outside, it must be at least 55° at night for sealer to properly cure and last
Do not seal in early spring or late fall as the sealer will not last; it will not cure properly and may track
Ideal for sealing hairline cracks in blacktop driveways and walkways with color
Durable, low VOC formula
Car traffic ready 24 hours minimum, longer dry time recommended in higher humidity or cooler temperatures
Wait at least 30-days before rinsing or cleaning, use a mild detergent as needed, areas that have scuffed can be cleaned with soap, water and brush after 30-days, use only a mild or diluted soap or detergent, the use of pressure washers and abrasive cleaners should be limited to avoid sealer failure
An annual touch-up may be required in some areas subject to frequent tire traffic
Color grade will not work on stamped asphalt
For large jobs it's a good idea to use a new 30 Gal. trash can, open and pour in 4 or 5 pails and using a mud flap and drill, mix as this will help you achieve consistent color
Achieves lower surface temperatures with lighter color surface and higher reflectivity

Q:Cont. Consistency was perfect, just like the video. Easy to work with, went in smooth. So, I received 5 bad dried buckets three years ago, ruined my tools working with the mess. I want my money back from 3 years ago and a credit for my materials used?

Q:Fast forward today. Reluctantly, I ordered 2 5 gallon buckets this week, give the driveway a quick coat (another try) before selling my house. I was amazed when picking up the product, it felt liquidity in the bucket. Opened the buckets and?

Q:Cont. called, emailed, sent photos to manufacturer showing my driveway ruined. I had absolutely no customer service, help or assistance. I did everything the instructions stated? It was a colossal waste of money and ruined my driveway.

Works well for courts
Used along with black sealer for Pickleball/Basketball courts in driveway… color is nice… and have already noticed that the beige color seems cooler… doesn’t get as hot or radiate as much heat as the black.

More effort & cost than you imagine, but ultimately worth it
In June 2015 I surfaced my 6000 square feet driveway in Westchester County NY with the brick red Latex-ite. The result exceeded my expectations, but the effort was also beyond my expectations. Here are some of the lessons I learnt:
1) PREPARATION. I used gap sealer to fill cracks for several weeks before applying the sealant. I used 6 one gallon containers of gap sealer, and had to apply two coatings to many of the gaps.
On the day of sealing, I scraped the edging and used a power blower to clear the entire surface. We then used paint brushes to apply 1 tub of the Brick Red sealer to the edges, covering a width of about 6 inches. This took four people a couple of hours.
2) MIXING. I used 42 tubs, each of 4.75 gallons (yes, forty two!). Mixing was easy, because I had the right tools – a Bosch variable speed drill, and a proper mixer (Drum Mixer, 4 1/2 In Dia. High Viscosity) that cost $50. Don’t waste your time with cheap mixers. It took me about one minute to mix each tub.
3) FIRST COAT. Two of us carried/poured the tubs, and the other two of us used an 18 inch rubber squeegee to spread. Don’t use a roller, because it doesn’t fill cracks. We only got about 200 square feet of coverage per tub. That took us 4 hours. It was dry to walk on after another 4 hours, but where it had seeped into cracks, it took up to 48 hours to dry. Where there was an excessive thickness of sealer, it cracked as it dried. We filled the cracks using a paint brush after 48 hours.
4) SECOND COAT. We waited three days before applying the second coat. This took half the effort (two people, 400 square feet per tub, about 4 hours). The surface was OK to drive a vehicle on after about 3 days. The tires on my vehicles picked up a red film for the first week or so.
5) WEATHER. It is difficult to find a window of weather for this job. When I called Dalton, they were very clear about the minimum temperature (55 degrees) and absence of rain for 36 hours. The coating is water soluble, which makes it easy to wash out of your shoes and tools, but it also makes it susceptible to being washed away by a shower of rain. It took us one day for the first coat, three days of hardening, one day for the second coat, and then two days of hardening – a total of 7 days. It is really rare to have a whole week of dry weather on the NorthEast in June!
6) RESULT. I am very pleased with the finished result. The color is more brick than red, but it is fine. The cracks are almost invisible. It cost me $2500 in materials and another $500 in hired labor, but it is worth it. However a rain downpour could have wiped out that $3000 in an hour!

Very Satisfied with results
We applied the product today to our 40' x 20' driveway. Driveway was in average to good shape to begin with. It took 3 buckets to finish the job. The product goes on very easliy and covers remarkably well. We did 2 coats and the finished producted looked fantastic. The second coat wasnt needed for color but it made the driveway exceptionally smooth..almost like concrete. If we had to point out anything negative it would be the seperation of chemicals quickly...making stirring a regular chore. Overall the finished product was impressive to say the least...this was verified by the constant parade of vehicles stopping to ask how we did it and to mention how good it looked.

Washing Away
Not much to say , followed instructions for prep . Did a area in front of my garage in late May. Looked great !!! It is now Aug. when I wash my cars on this area in front of garage , The Beige color seems to wash down the driveway .I went online to the Latexalite site , went through the motions to explain what this very expensive product is doing and have not gotten a response.

Oh my goodness!! I wanted more of a cement looking drive. We have blacktop. I bought this and a squeegee. My husband did the prep work degreasing and blow off debris. We stirred this well and dumped it in small areas and spread with squeegee. Put extra in the cracked areas. It came out beautiful!! It sealed as well. I will re review after 6 months. 1 month now and is great! We have a huge drive so it was like $500 to do it all.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I assume color coating...
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I assume color coating does not sell well in volume, and the product I received must have been sitting for years. It took a gallon of water per five gallon bucket just to get it to turn with a high power drill (dried caulk like). Just go black, and pay half the cost of this junk.
