    Do not buy
I wanted a self propelled lawnmower with an electric start because I have a bad back and have difficulty bending or lifting. They did not have one in the store, so I ordered online. Big mistake. Mower had a bent wheel height adjuster out of the box. After working with it, I got it so it would it would adjust. When I went to mow, the self propelled feature didn't work. The manual suggested the cable was adjustable. After adjustment it worked ONCE. The 2nd time I started to mow, it would not engage. I would really like to return or exchange, but Lawnboy says I should take it to an authorized repair shop. So I will have to lift a 90lb mower into and out of my car. I am searching my city to find a repair shop. The motor seems good. It does start easily. But everything else is cheap. I sure hope they will honor the warranty on this piece of junk.

convenient, easy to use , light weight, easy start,
This is a very convenient, easy to use , light weight, easy start, if battery is down, pull start a breeze. I have it for 4 years now and working fine. No issues. Battery charges very fast and good for a whole season. Only thing is the bag is too small and fills up fast and the position of the bag blocks the shute with the result the grass overflows from one side. This is the only draw back otherwise it is 5 stars

    Don't waste your money
Good engine. Easy start. Good mulching. But after only a few uses, the self propelled drive started slipping and grinding. Makes an awful noise, and barely makes it up grades. Tried to return to Home Depot, but was past their 30 day return policy for gas powered equipment. Took it for service at the recommended service shop, and now it's worse. Sounds like plastic gears are stripped, but can't actually see them, so don't know for sure what the problem is. Also 3 of the 6 the rear height adjustment pins broke off, so can only set it very high or very low. Of course that part is not cover by warrantee? Metal pins in plastic housing just don't hold. This was not from rough use or abuse. The pins just fall out from the weight of the mower. Lawnboy used to be a quality name. But the plastic parts on critical features of this thing make it garbage.

    don't buy
In one month I bought one, and the electric start failed. Tried a 2nd one, and that one had to be returned also. I ended up getting a Toro, and hopefully I will have better luck with it.

    Exactly as advertised
works great and seems to be very good product. Took a couple of minutes to realize the tighter the drive wheel handle the faster it moved - but figured it out.

Best Lawn mower I have ever owned / or operated! Great value for the cost!
So far I love this lawn mower!! Purchased two months ago and had it delivered directly to my Home. Assembly was quick and easy, put the gas and oil in and it started right up. For those With neck and back issues this is great, key start is awesome. Fast cutting, it's a work out keeping Up with it. I highly recommend especially for the price great value.

    Just what I needed
I was a little hesitant ordering a lawnmower, but it was fairly painless. The only problem was that the box was shipped on its side and the levers to adjust the wheel height were bent. They were easy to bend back into place, though and not a fault of the manufacturer (other than not putting "this side up" instructions on the box). The mower charged in less than 24 hours, but I gave it that much just in case. When I put oil and gas into it, turned the key it started immediately. My concern with going from a 22" to a 20" was quickly dismissed due to the self-propelled drive. Even with thick grass, it took less time to mow my lawn than it would have manually pushing my old mower. Some of the plastic covers seem on the cheap side, but I don't see that as a problem. I've had it for a month now and it started each time without fuss. The only complaint is that my hands get sore after using it for a while because of holding both the bars to keep it running and moving. I like it and it certainly makes mowing less of a chore.

    Good product
I have used other company product for 10 years and as it was broken, I ordered 20 in. Briggs & Stratton Electric Start Self-Propelled Gas Walk-Behind Mower by on line. Every aspect s is satisfactory up to now. It arrived within 5 days to my home. Though there is light scratch on the plastic engine cover, generally delivery condition was good. Up to now I have used 5 times and it works very well. Electric start is awesome,it starts with 1 turn of the key. So easy compare to pull the string type. Rear wheel Drive self -propelled function is good as well and can easily, hanged the speed,so easy to cut the grass. as a whole, this machine is like a all equipped luxury car, while the price is very very competitive,$299. Why buy a expensive mower with less function. It is quiet too.i love this mower and strongly recommend to others who is looking for mower.

    Returned to Home Depot
The speed on the lawn mower is extremely hard to control. Also, only one of the drive wheels turns at a time and you have to push it to get it moving, reducing the traction.

    What a disappointment !!!!
Left front wheel was skewed at receipt, but was able to get wheel height lever into detent. During use, the lever came out of detent, repeatedly. Self-propelled speed set way too fast, and difficult to keep speed bar at a consistent position . A disaster of a product. Tried to use once and returned it almost immediately. Thanks to Home Depot for a friendly return policy.

    Satisfied with product, BUT!
This is a good lawnmower despite the fact that it arrived with the included quart of oil container having a leak in it (contents of the carton bathed in oil). This unit has a variable speed drive lever which was not clearly described in the online sales description. It takes a bit of patience to learn to use this vs most power drive solutions of "select a speed" options. It is also a bit dangerous as when one hits an unexpected bump on the lawn (even a small one) the speed lever may bounce in one's hand and cause an unexpected acceleration or stoppage! I have yet to find a real redeeming advantage in this approach to a lawnmower drive.

This mower is OK for light mowing but quality is lacking . Wheels will not stay adjusted at the correct height. Price is right for the features on this mower. Onboard charging system would be a nice feature instead of having to manually charge.

    Fast little sucker
Great Mower, easy to start, none of the shipping issues I read in other reviews, great price. But, bag is a little small, grass tends to stick to the underside a lot, and who could possibly keep up with the self-propelled speed that this mower has when the handle is depressed all the way, you literally would have to run to keep up. You can press it partially to control your speed, but it takes some getting used to and your hands tend to get sore with a partial press. Hang on when turning because you tend to depress the handle more then and the mower will take off.

    Good purchase
The lawnmower is a good mower , with one exception. I had to disassemble one front wheel to re-tension the brackets to hold the wheel in position. Other than that, the mower is great. Not a big deal , but I sell and repair bicycles all day. For someone not mechanically inclined it would be a challenge.

    The best of everything!
The mower was delivered quickly, and was a snap to assemble. The electric start is a fantastic feature for those of us who hate pulling those cords until it starts. Self propel and height adjustment are easy to use and makes the mower much more versatile. Briggs engines are very dependable and inexpensive to maintain. This was a great deal!

    lawn mower
I bought it online and got it delivered to my home. Shipment came pretty quickly much earlier than the promised date. I opened it, read the instructions and assembled it in a few minutes... all too easy. Started mowing and noticed that one of the front wheel was not touching the ground. Then noticed that the height adjuster lever was not firmly sitting in the groove provided. No matter which hole you put it, even at the slightest bump it would slip all the way back. It was clear that the lever on one side of the mower was damaged/loose and it did not look like a shipment damaged. It came from the factory defective

I read the reviews and still bought it, should have listened!
the Lawnboy self propel, key start mower needed some mechanical work right in the box. I had to straightened the rear height adjusters, they both were badly bent. Like I said "I read the reviews, should have listened." I mowed my back yard, a total of 15-20 mins and as I was just about to mulch some leaves, the left rear wheel fell off. Luckily I read the reviews and didn't panic or scream, I just looked for all the parts that fell off. Then I went to the HD web site and read the reviews again, just for some back up of sorts and in the process I copied the parts schematics and the parts list as well as the warranty. Well I don't know who designed this mower but I would think someone would have thought to put a lock nut on the bolt that holds the wheels on, but for some reason the bolt only goes far enough (say four threads) into the main assembly, no mechanical device to hold the bolt on other than the threads of the bolt. I've only had this mower for 2 days and one mow. So of I go to put the wheel back on, but first I'm gonna buy some Loctite at my local HD.

      Solid-Value-Power
Very pleased, exactly as advertised, right out of the box, untouchable value, forget the high dollar mowers. One note, this mower excels in mulching, hill climbing, rough terrain yards. I would not purchase if you are a bagger.

        Great mower
I have only 1 problem with this mower assembly the people who built this didnt tighten any of the bolts so when it arrived I got out my tools tightened every bolt on this macine. Every one was only hand tight. After that this mower is great cuts nice starts on the first pull every time. Love the tri cut blade. Also these lawn boy mowers are last of the solid metal decks. All the new mowers have plastic front and rear. Cracks after a couple of years of light duty work.

Height adjuster problem on front wheel
I bought it online and got it delivered to my home. Shipment came pretty quickly much earlier than the promised date. I opened it, read the instructions and assembled it in a few minutes... all too easy. Started mowing and noticed that one of the front wheel was not touching the ground. It was clear that the lever on one side of the mower was damaged/loose and it did not look like a shipment damaged. It came from the factory defective. Others reviewers seem to have a similar problems, some of them had front wheel issue and others rear wheel. So looks like quality control is lacking for this mower. I plan to return it to the nearest store and take a slight risk by re-ordering the same mower, hoping that the new mower will not have any issue. Otherwise its a good mower, self propel and key start are great features for this price.

        Can't beat it
My first Lawnboy has been replaced after 24 years of service with this 20 inch electro start model. With a $50 off on-line promotion {$279} you cant beat this deal. The only reason I can think of why Toro bought Lawnboy a few years ago .. is they can't compete with quality at the Lawnboy price. Their equivalent would be $399 and you get 2 inch wider cut.

          Mulching Challenged
After reading several positive reviews for the Lawn Boy Model 10634 mower I purchased it from the local HD store. On the positive side this mower started easily, ran smoothly and was fairly light to use. A lack of side discharge chute was a little unsettling however based on the positive comments on the mulching ability on this mower I believed it wasn't necessary. Cutting(mulching) the grass for the first time a trail of grass followed me much to my displeasure. I thought that perhaps the grass being a bit wet caused this. A second cut yielded the same results so I told myself I cut the grass too short. The 3rd and 4th cuts a few days apart yielded the same results as cut 1 and 2. Returned to HD and purchased a Honda. If you plan on bagging your grass clippings that this mower is for you, however if you like to mulch your grass clipping than this mower is not up to the task.
