Q:If I need to remove it, will it damage the paint of the wall or the finish of the laminate?

Answer This Question
A:Â As with any other adhesive, it can cause damage during removal. To minimize any damage, we recommend using an adhesive remover, which is citrus base (Such as Goo-B-Gone). If the product is horizontal, apply the adhesive remover along the top against the wall and wait a while; then use a putty knife to gently work it off the wall.

A: Probably won’t damage laminate or any other sufficiently hard surface if removed carefully, but it will most likely strip paint or detach wallpaper or other less cohesive surfaces upon removal. Even hard surfaces will likely require cleaning adhesive residue after removal, though.Â

Q:will this work to cover up camera surveillance wires outdoors?

Answer This Question
A:Â It will certainly work....but I suspect the adhesive (that holds the parts to the house) will not last long in the outside weather.
by|Apr 7, 2022
A:Â This product is not designed for outdoor use. While technically, there is not reason you can't use it outdoors, we would not expect it to perform very well.

A:Â It "can" work for thst but with a few pitfalls.
1) it will yellow over time from UV exposure
2) the plastic will get brittle and crack over time from UV exposure
3) the adhesive is not designed for outdoor use. You may have problems getting it to stick to some surfaces and it may weeken over time from exposure to the elements

A:Â To remove the channel without damaging the wall, we advise I you to use an adhesive remover (we like citrus base, such as Goo-B-Gone) If the product is horizontal, apply the adhesive remover along the top against the wall & wait a while; then use a putty knife to work it off the wall.

This is total crap!!!!
This is total crap, It will not stay stuck to the wall after multiple attempts. It has ruined my wall and my sheet rock, pulled the paint off and the sheet rock compound but still falls down. I will have to have the sheet rock replaced and repainted because of this crap product……do no buy this if you value your walls!

Piece of Cake
Had about 29' of speaker wires to cover. Bought 2 of the Cordmate II cover kits plus a 5' section. Measured out the distance then laid out the pieces as I had seen on install videos. Installation was smooth and easy. Attached these to a smooth baseboard so I expect the pieces will adhere over the long term. Very pleased with the result. I recommend this product.

This is an update to my April 2017 review where I gave this product 5 stars. I will admit that I do have textured walls in an (Orange Peel) which is not the recommended wall surface intended to be stuck to. Nonetheless, this product stuck to my walls perfectly for about a year to a year and a half, but then in a few locations, the adhesive gave out and I could see cordmate dangling from the walls. At first I just tried to re-stick the cordmate back into place. But then I realized that I would need to permanently mechanically fasten them to the walls. The perfect solution I came up with is to use another Home Depot product, "EZ Anchor Drywall & Stud Anchor". These come in either a 20 count or 50 count box. You simply install maybe three anchors per 4 foot piece of cordmate, one on each end and one in the middle. Stick up your cordmate as usual but then with the cordmate opened up, pre-drill your holes with a 3/16" drill bit, just through the cordmate into the drywall, it is not necessary to drill too deep, you basically just want to get through the plastic. Then just screw the self-drilling zinc anchor with either a screwdriver or cordless drill and drive it all the way in flush with the back of the cordmate. You don't use the attached screws that come with the anchors, just the zinc anchors will be sufficient to hold the cordmates permanently to the walls and they will never come down at any point. See the attached product image.
