Q:I need a cord cover for a plug-in wall sconce which has a on/off switch in the middle of the cord. Is there an outlet on the cord cover access the on/off switch?

    Answer This Question

A:  Hi Vern, There would not be an outlet on the cord cover to access the switch that is in line with the cord. Using a length of cord cover before and after that switch would really be the only way to cover most of the wire and keep that switch accessible. Thanks,

Q:The adhesive on the wiremold ia not sticking to my ceiling. I am unable to screw in, as my ceiling is concrete. What can i do to get this to stick?
      by|Sep 23, 2023

      Answer This Question

A:  Hello Faith, Raceway with adhesive adheres best to drywall, plaster or similar wall surfaces that are clean and free from dust and debris. Since concrete is more porous, adhesive is not likely to stick as well. A combination of concrete anchors and screws would be best for this application. Thank you

Q:I'm putting this on wallpaper just above the baseboard. Will I be able to remove the channel later with no wallpaper damage? If not, before installing channel should I add a layer of "easy release" double stick tape or double stick foam to the channel?

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi, Adhesive would likely damage the wallpaper. We would recommend using a couple small screws rather than the adhesive to secure the raceway to the wall. Thanks,

Easy to install. I used it to cover patio fan cables. Friends all though the installation came with the house because of how clean it looked.

          This is total crap!!!!
This is total crap, It will not stay stuck to the wall after multiple attempts. It has ruined my wall and my sheet rock, pulled the paint off and the sheet rock compound but still falls down. I will have to have the sheet rock replaced and repainted because of this crap product……do no buy this if you value your walls!

          Response from LegrandSupportOct 20, 2022
We are sorry to hear that this cord cover damaged your walls when you tried to remove it. We recommend using a citrus based adhesive remover and a putty knife to remove from the wall and minimize any damage. If you have any additional feedback, please reach out to us at customer.support-wm@legrand.us or Phone: 844-957-3783 Mon - Fri: 8am - 6pm EST (excluding holidays) and we would be happy to assist.

            Piece of Cake
Had about 29' of speaker wires to cover. Bought 2 of the Cordmate II cover kits plus a 5' section. Measured out the distance then laid out the pieces as I had seen on install videos. Installation was smooth and easy. Attached these to a smooth baseboard so I expect the pieces will adhere over the long term. Very pleased with the result. I recommend this product.

This is an update to my April 2017 review where I gave this product 5 stars. I will admit that I do have textured walls in an (Orange Peel) which is not the recommended wall surface intended to be stuck to. Nonetheless, this product stuck to my walls perfectly for about a year to a year and a half, but then in a few locations, the adhesive gave out and I could see cordmate dangling from the walls. At first I just tried to re-stick the cordmate back into place. But then I realized that I would need to permanently mechanically fasten them to the walls. The perfect solution I came up with is to use another Home Depot product, "EZ Anchor Drywall & Stud Anchor". These come in either a 20 count or 50 count box. You simply install maybe three anchors per 4 foot piece of cordmate, one on each end and one in the middle. Stick up your cordmate as usual but then with the cordmate opened up, pre-drill your holes with a 3/16" drill bit, just through the cordmate into the drywall, it is not necessary to drill too deep, you basically just want to get through the plastic. Then just screw the self-drilling zinc anchor with either a screwdriver or cordless drill and drive it all the way in flush with the back of the cordmate. You don't use the attached screws that come with the anchors, just the zinc anchors will be sufficient to hold the cordmates permanently to the walls and they will never come down at any point. See the attached product image.
