Is there a knockout on the back and a covered plate that you can wire and mount this into a single hand electrical box?

Answer

Hi, there is a knockout on the back of the Plugmold. You will likely need end feed fittings to connect as well (option below - paintable with spraypaint). If you have any additional questions, please reach out to us at (800) 621-0049 and we would be happy to help! https://www.homedepot.com/p/Legrand-Plugmold-3-in-End-Feed-Fitting-Ivory-V2010A2/202520808

Should this be on a 15 Amp circuit, or does it meet NEC for a 20 Amp circuit?

The product looks nice but is too slim in the design. You can’t run any wires to the left. Found it impossible. After much pounding and dentinggave up. Any worth connect must come from right side and so had to cut from the left and add to the right too give extra room for wire connection. It’s not supposed to be that hard. Once up product looks nice and works well.

Hi there! We are sorry to hear that you had difficulty wiring this Plugmold strip. Due to the GFCI design, it can be a little bit more complicated to install than regular Plugmold. Another option for wiring which will leave more room is to use butt splices such as those linked below (keep in mind this will need a crimping tool). If you have any additional comments or questions, or would like help troubleshooting, please reach out to us at (800) 621-0049.

Great product. I’m also an electrician so I install this all the time. But for and average joe this stuff is not super easy to install. Sometimes it requires cutting and you also need a starter box to splice the wires for the feed end. Takes a good amount of pressure to snap the track in as well.

I agree with many of the other reviews that are critical of this series of power strips. They are cheaply made, though not much worse than many other power and lighting products. They are too small to wire using normal methods. 3 wire nuts just won't fit inside. I used inline crimp connectors. And you have to find a low profile knock out strain relief too. On one of my two units, I needed to reform the end caps. They weren't formed correctly and wouldn't fit. The knock out locations are not matched to the strip. And they vary from one to another so you will have to cut your own. I would only recommend these if you really need low profile as I did and are willing and able to do substantial sheet metal work. But if you need low profile, I haven't found another solution. If you don't need low profile, there are dozens of better and less expensive units to select from.
