We have been replacing light switches and outlets in our house with the new "decora" style because my wife likes them better than the older traditional style ones from the 60's when our home was built. When replacing 3-way switches you must identify the common (line / load) wire and the travelers. For this installation it was easy, black was connected to the common terminal of the old switch with red and white travelers. This is not always the case so be ready to find the common. With the common identified it's an easy installation.
I prefer to use the screw terminals as opposed to the quick push in terminals. I also like wrapping electrical tape around the terminals before putting the switch into the switchbox.

The Leviton Decora 15 Amp 3-Way Antimicrobial AC Quiet Rocker Light Switch is a great item in this pandemic age and looking forward. In my opinion Levitron is a quality supplier of electrical wiring, especially for home installation and replacement. I don't know how the professionals feel, but I've been doing home wiring DIY since I was a kid, being taught by my dad, and Levitron builds in features that cheaper products don't have.
First off, the wiring for new or replacement is easy. For a 3 way switch to work properly, you need 3 conductors and a ground going to each switch. the two standard leads come from a hot supply and go to the fixture. The third lead is a "traveler" that routes or shunts the hot side on the other switch. Scan the web for specific instructions and if you don't understand them, consult a professional.
Back to the switch. Levitron has created an Anti-Microbial plastic that is self sanitizing. Silver ions in the materials act as the antimicrobial agent by inhibiting cell division and preventing bacteria from reproducing. Other metals have a similar property with silver being the second best behind copper or it's alloys. In other words, microbes will not survive on these materials. Additionally Levitron also sells switch plates made of the same material. It's a good idea to make sure you use both. I installed these switches on the 3 way light just outside of my bathroom. I'm not a germaphobe, but in this day and age, I feel better on the side of precaution. The cost difference is not that great and well worth it if you are remodeling.

I got this switch to replace a switch that wasn’t a three-way but needed to be a three-way. Someone put the wrong Switch in. It’s really easy to install just like any other light switch. Turn the power off, remove the cover, remove the two screws holding the switch in, then connect the wires to the new switch and reverse the process. What’s great about the switch is it antimicrobial treated so it continually cleans itself. It is in bedded with silver ions that perform this anti-microbial action.I frequently use Levitown it’s really good stuff very high-quality the switch works great I would definitely recommend Levitown for any electrical project.

I recently picked up a near UV antimicrobial light to go up over my kitchen sink. I figured this antimicrobial switch would be the perfect compliment. This switch is 3-way configurable so that you can set up switches in either end of a room or hallway. It uses the same switch configuration so you can use standard face plates that work with other leviton switches.

Leviton is on top of the game with this 15 amp 3-way light switch by adding the antimicrobial feature to it. As we are in a time of high alert for germs, this is a perfect product. 3-way switches are always handy in a large room where you are able to have a switch on opposite walls coming and going from the room. The switch is easy to install and is quiet as a mouse . No clicking on and off like some. A nice feature to add to a room and a super functional one to fight germs.

I moved into a new home and ordered this Leviton Decora style electrical switch for a commonly used light switch in the hall entrance. In light of Covid you can’t be too careful with the spread of virus’ and germs, There really is no way to test the antimicrobial feature of this rocker switch but according to the box, testing has been done and proved effective but how is anyone to really know..
The only complaint I have is the instructions are in very small print on the inside of the box. Installation is standard, the hot wire or black one goes to the right side and the white wire goes to the left side.
All in all, Leviton makes very good quality electrical rockers and outlets. I would recommend this item.

We are renovating our bathroom so I thought that would be the perfect place for this antimicrobial 3-way switch! It's white and looks just like a normal rocker switch. The box says "helps prevent the growth of harmful bacteria, mold, mildew and fungi". Sounds pretty good to me! It also has a matching Leviton antimicrobial plastic wall plate to go along with it.

Leviton Decora are definitely my favorite light switches and I use them everywhere in my home. They have a beautiful, clean and elegant design and last forever in my experience. They are also made in the United States. I prefer to spend more for Lutron Maestro when it comes to dimmers but I perfer the simpler design and cheaper price of Leviton Decora when it comes to switches.

The Leviton Decora 15 Amp 3-Way Antimicrobial AC Quiet Rocker Light Switch, White installed easily. You should have an electrician install the switch. A 3 way light switch is different than a single pole switch. Between the two 3-way switches they should both turn on and off the light. The rocker switch looks and feels better. Being antimicrobial is a great benefit of this switch.
