The outside dimensions of the switch wall plates vary, But all of them fit the same switches. You should have no problem.

Certainly. Just because it's made for higher voltages, 110 V or 120 V, that doesn't mean it won't work at the lower voltages used for speakers.

screw torque chart for single pole switch

Generally, screws of this size are not supplied with a specified torque, because most people don't have an appropriate torque wrench. Also, you have not specified whether you are talking about the terminal screws or the mounting screws. I assume you are talking about the terminal screws. I sympathize with your lack of torque spec, and I agree that it should be specified for best results, but I doubt that any electrician ever uses a torque wrench for these. You might be able to find the torque spec if you go to the manufacturer's website, but even there it's doubtful that they will supply it.

This product is NOT rated 277V per the manufacturer.

I use it on 120 volt lines. I have no problems with it switching LED lighting.

Do these switches work with LED light fixtures or bulbs?

Asked by Curiousone July 1, 2018

The other problem with non led compatible switches are that they bleed a small amount of electric. I do have Leviton switches that do not fully shut off led lights. In a dark background you will see that they stay lit. Like led rope lights or led string lights. A standard 120 volt on off switch can bleed 2.5 volts that can allow led lights to glow.

Are replacement switches available for AL-CU wires? Or can I use one for CU or CU-CLAD only?

Hi , Thank you for choosing Leviton. CU or CU-CLAD only devices cannot be wired directly to AL wiring. However you can use our 2651-2W that is CO/ALR rated.

Hi , Thank you for choosing Leviton. The switch itself is not grounded unless the ground connection is made to the green screw. However If no ground connection is available and the ground screw was not being used the switch will still operate.

Does this switch have push in back terminals that accept 12AWG copper wire?

Push connectors accept 14 AWG. A little "field work" could make 12 work. DIYers use screw connectors on the sides for 12 gauge.

(What's this)
This is a single pole switch. It is used when you want to turn a single light on and off (or fan or other electrical device). It is a very simple switch to install. Of course, always turn the power off to this location prior to starting. If you are replacing an existing switch, you will just use the wires that are already in the box. You hook the ground (green wire) to the green screw. There will also be two black wires. It doesn't matter which one goes where. You can hook either wire to either (non-green) screw. That's all there is to it.

I purchased these to update the dark brown switches in my new (older) home. They work great so far (1 month). However, make sure the switch cover plate you purchase is large enough to cover the entire hole that was cut in the sheetrock. I made a return trip to HD to exchange the “standard” sized plates for midsized.
