Why does both of my light switches come with pigtail
I have 2 single 15a 120v toggle switches in a double hole with double cover.1 is Leviton for light switch an 1 is for trash compactor which is 15a 120v . I run them at same time but 1 for light switch blew out and smell burn.Can I run both after fixing?

If have a 15 amp gFCI that this up stream that brings power to basic 15 amp outlet giving power to standard 15 amp toggle switch If replacing for do you need it to be a 15 amp switch too soo when you turn light on it doesn’t trip GFCI
