The Problem: when I enter my dark garage from the house, I cannot see the wall switch to turn on the double fluorescent lights, so I run my hand over the wall using feel to locate the switch. My first attempt at a remedy, an illuminated switch, failed because the switch would only work with incandescent or LED bulbs, not the fluorescent tubes. The Solution: A Decora single pole lighted rocker switch with pilot light was the perfect solution. I ordered it online from Home Depot and picked it up at my local store 3 days later. It works with fluorescent tubes. After shutting off the circuit breaker, I removed the existing switch from the wall box and removed the wires, holding the switch with pilot light in my hand, I attached the bare ground wire to the green screw and inserted the black wires under the clips and tightened the screws for side mounting, and installed the new switch in the box. Turned breaker on, and PRESTO!, with the switch in the off position, the red pilot light lit up. Now it's easy to find the wall switch in the dark garage. This is what the switch looks like.

I researched this product before purchasing to see if I can wire it to have the light come on when the switch is on. A note from a manufacture's rep on the Home Depot website suggested that I could. However, that is not the case. the light is on when the switch is OFF . . . useless. It's essentially a night light to find the switch
