About This Product

Leviton SmartlockPro GFCIs are designed to meet the latest UL standard for auto-monitoring (self-test). Our complete line of self-test GFCIs periodically conduct an automatic internal test to confirm that it can respond to a ground fault. With the slimmest profile on the market, the device allows for fast and easy installation, while Leviton's patented reset lockout mechanism prevents reset of the GFCI if it is not wired or operating correctly.

Highlights

  • For an added layer of protection, the GFCI regularly conducts an automatic internal test to confirm that it can respond to a ground fault
  • Provides continuous ground fault protection - detects and trips on actual ground fault even when self-test is being conducted
  • Status indicator light provides simple, intuitive feedback on power and protection status as well as indication of line/load reversal
  • Patented lockout action prevents reset if GFCI is damaged and cannot respond to a ground fault
  • Status indicator light provides simple, intuitive feedback on power and protection status as well as indication of line/load reversal
  • Patented lockout action prevents reset if GFCI is damaged and cannot respond to a ground fault
  • Electronics are designed to minimize any false triggers
  • Reduced depth makes it easier to install in any electrical box, even shallow ones
  • Advanced electronics design provides superior resistance to electrical surges and over-voltages

GFCI is a must for a generator. I used this to replace the outlet on my generator. Has a green led do you know it has power. Great solution. Great value. Easy to replace.

        Quality Outlet
I used this outlet as the first in a string in order to provide GFCI protection for the entire circuit. It works well and trips when it should without providing any nuisance trips. My single biggest complaint is that this, along with all tamper resistant outlets can be a royal pain, seemingly deciding completely at random if it is going to allow you to plug anything into it or not, thus I cannot give it 5 stars.

Installed this in a new kitchen island. Since the outlet needed to have armored cable inside the island cabinet, I used a metal box so the cable could be secured with the proper connectors at the box. I don't know if this is wider that other GFCIs, but it barely fit the metal box width-wise. I had to make sure to wrap the side screw terminals in electricians tape several times to insulate them and make sure they didn't accidentally rub the metal box. It seems to work fine other than that.

Yes. I daisy chained nine of these recepticals to operate independantly on two different curcuits (pigtails. When any one of them short out all the others stay on and are not affected. This works really well. All I have to do is reset the one that tripped to have nine of them working again). The outlet protectors work well, too.

Successful installation of this Leviton 20 Amp GFCI module was a pleasant relief. The unit came with thorough Spanish and English instructions that helped identify outlet wiring needed to safely return my house ground fault interrupted circuit (GFCI) to service. The unit size is 25% smaller than older units, reducing need to wrestle existing stiff house wiring back into the outlet box. The unit updates newer safety features introduced since my home was built in 1986. Instructions were clear with contact information for additional technical help if needed. Home Depot associates helped with their experience and realistic estimate of my electrical understanding and ability for this installation.
