This, LEVITON 28 IN. WIRELESS STRUCTURED MEDIA CENTER WITH VENTED HINGED DOOR, WHITE arrived in short order. I removed the "old" media center and wanted to separate my media into separate and more up to date enclosures. I'm glad I selected this one. The installation was very simple. The instructions are very easy to understand for any level of person installing it. There are a lot of was to support this media center which should provide a lot of options for the perfect job! Once I got this media center, I already had in mind to purchase another. Very sturdy material and high-end looks!

the shipping for this Leviton wireless media center arrived in a timely manner in a very sturdy box. The good part of this is that it hide all of your media wiring and routers inside the cavity of the wall in a nice storage area. Many options to mount thing in different locations.. The bad is that its all platic that is rigid and this can be done with just wood in between the studs in a wall.

Thank you for your review, and Leviton sincerely regrets your dissatisfaction regarding the plastic feeling non sturdy. The reaspn for the plastic is to allow WiFi signals to pass through more easily than metal. We take all product reviews seriously and will pass this along to our product management team. Please contact Leviton directly, and a technical specialist can assist with any problems you may be experiencing.

I am happy with this Media Center panel. The item can be configured in many different ways which is a plus. If you like to keep your cables organized, this panel can certainly help with that. One thing that I wish they improved on is when removing the knockouts the panel can crack the main frame. I would suggest using a rotary tool to remove the knockouts without damaging the panel. If it wasn't for that I would give it a 5 star rating.

Fits between studs or you can surface mount. Depth is 3 1/2" (no door) or 4 3/4" with the door. I'm adding some information about the depth because I think it is important, and it may not be obvious. This is a compact enclosure designed to fit in the wall in new construction, or you can surface mount it later. In my case, it is going on a basement foundation so surface mounting works perfectly. The idea is to take your network equipment and hide it in this enclosure, out of the way, off the table. Most network equipment is 3" or less in width, so this works fine. If you are planning on enclosing a small server, keep in mind the depth limitations. You'll also want to leave some space on the side to allow circulation on all sides. Here's where the door helps. This door design is not flush -- and that's good because it provides more depth and room for ventilation. The extra depth is 1 1/4" usable inches. Much of the door is 1 1/2" deep, but there are some stiles for the venting, and a lock hole, that limit the usable room to 1 1/4". Extra install help requires available shelves for multiple equipment levels, which must be purchased separately. You could potentially create your own, if you are good with carpentry. I think the shelves are necessary for multiple pieces of equipment. Be aware they are not included. I think this kind of media center should become a standard on all new construction. Pros: - Door can install and swing either side (L or R) - Door hinges install very easily and also are easily removable - Surface mount or between stud (in-wall) installation options - In-wall installation allows professional electrical install, if desired - Looks good - Can be locked (lock not included) Dislikes: - Tabs require removal to look good on surface mount install. They must be manually cut off. - 28" height allows multiple equipment, but shelves and mounting must be purchased separately. - Grommets not included for knockout holes. Useful for cable feeds through the unit. Overall I'm very happy with this unit. My main issue is that no accessories are included (shelves, straps, grommets, etc.) These must be purchased separately. Having at least a starter set of these accessories would be helpful. Made in USA

Definitely one of those thing every new house should have. It's an enclosure that will not block wireless signals so now you can put your router inside and close it. Unlike metal enclosures that can block wireless signals. These are easy to install and they have doors that open wide so you can have access to all the gears inside. It's well ventilated so devices don't get too hot.

If you're looking for a way to organize your home IT equipment, this just might be the thing you need. Leviton's 28 in. Wireless Structured Media Center with Vented Hinged Door was just what I needed to get the basement media center extras out of the way, and it even saved space by allowing me to recess it into the wall. Just be careful with the heat that is generated from what you place in it, the ventilation is not bad, but it's certainly going to get toasty with the door closed if you have something that generates a lot of heat like a high-performance Wi-Fi router.

Leviton 28 inch media center enclosure with vented hinged door. Looks great and is well built. It is functional and accommodates a variety of media devices. It is a functional and professional looking central hub for locating internet, cable, satellite and telephone connections. The cabinet is well structured to run the wires neatly. The hinged door makes it nice to hide all the equipment. It is made of plastic. It is light weight. Fits nicely in the wall and the vent holes allows outside airflow to the equipment.

This one's nice it's a good size for most moderate homes it will hold the high quality larger modem / routers that you purchase from third parties looks like it'll also be able to fit in a nice ethernet splitter if you have one of those houses that have Ethernet ran to individual rooms plenty of provisions and knockouts for conduit and other low voltage wiring The plastic doesn't seem brittle it flexes but it doesn't give you the brittle feeling it has provisions on the bottom to hold a real outlet so you can plug in your modem right there inside the cabinet The doors can be put on to swing left or right

It is super lightweight and very easy to install. You don’t even need tools to hook up the hinges for the hood. They just click right in place. You can choose which way it opens. I did brace it with 2x4s since I recessed mine inside the drywall. I didn’t want it taking up all that closet space. It has lots of pop outs for you to run your wires. There is plenty of room and you have plenty of options for your module setup.

This Leviton 28” Media Center is just what I have been looking for to organize the equipment boxes and wiring mess in our office data center. It is nice quality, looks good and is very adaptable to meet individual situations. There are plenty of knockouts to accommodate cords and it even has two for rectangular electrical boxes. The back of the box has 4 keyhole and 2 static mounting points and 3 double rows and 2 single rows of 27 holes each. There are also two keyhole points and 16 slots in the mounting tabs at the front of the box so you have a lot of options available to mount it either inset to a wall or face mounted. The hinge and latch arrangement is very clever and allows you to configure the door to be hung either left or right swing as well as close or up to 5/8“ away from the box. There are small ledges on each side which could easily be used to add shelves and there are 2 rectangular loops on each side that I will use for zip tie anchors.
