Answer This Question
A:Â Leviton StructuredMedia power module, they make it in surge or non surge. It fits perfectly in the bottom of the structure. You'll have to take bot knock outs off and slip it right in.

Size matters
I purchased this because the media center installed in my house when it was built was half the height, nothing fit in there properly and it was just too small for all the connections to be made. With this unit I installed one 3 foot power strip whereas I had 3 smaller strips that took up way too much space. Every time I opened the door eqipment would fall out and I'd have to jam it back in behind the door in order to close it. I was abble to separate the coax from the ethernet, the coax splitter from the ethernet extender and secure just about everything in this with either a screw or a velcro strap. The actual enclosure is made of plastic so it won't hinder wifi signal as much the the old metal box. I'm very happy with the upgrade, should've done it a while ago. Although it took a long time, it was worth it
I did order a trim ring with it which I thought made it look more like a professional job. Also the shelves I ordered with it made it easier to install equipment inside the unit.

This, LEVITON 42 IN. WIRELESS STRUCTURED MEDIA CENTER WITH VENTED HINGED DOOR, WHITE looks great by itself or stunning when you pair it with another one! I purchased a smaller version and liked it so much I decided to have more of my Media gear in a similar enclosure. The amount of ventilation openings is reassuring that my gear will have adequate ventilation and keep the hardware functioning properly. The door also expands for different sized hardware you install in the enclosure. This 42 inch one has a pretty large HDR with room to spare. I choose this media center for its size and simplicity to install. I'd recommend this high-end media center for those looking to provide better care for their media hardware!
I installed this beauty in my Laundry room ,the studs were space 24" on center but I just wedged a 42" 2x4 and secured it to the drywall with drywall screws on the left side. This worked perfect for my application and its plenty secure, it also still gives me future access to the underside of the cabinet for fishing additional cables from above to below the cabinet's knockout. I ended up buying the additional trim ring to give it a cleaner look and hide the drywall rough in cuts. Still a work in progress as far as populating the equipment. My wife gets her closet back and it doesn't imped her laundry room storage wall.

The Leviton wireless structured media center is built with a polymer that does not interfere with wireless signals from the router. Most cabinets are made of metal and that can block or diminished the wireless signals. The media center is long and can hold many wifi networking devices including the modem, routers and any other accessories that you would need inside.

This is the second Leviton structured media box i have installed in my house. A few years ago i put one in my basement to house our modem and various internet related equipment. This time we were trying to extend a few low voltage items into a remote garage to help with wifi distribution and our audio system.
I could tell from moving the box around that this was much lighter than the previous models - it is entirely made of plastic. At first i was excited, it made handling it very easy, and i thought it might reduce interference with our wireless access point.
The problem, and reason for the 3 star review came from the installation process. It is straight forward, attach to stud at bracket location, plenty of brackets, and each bracket has flexible screw placement. Ii used the recommended drywall screws (not included and attached at each bracket point using an impact driver. Since the box is plastic any time you put a little torque on the screw it deforms the cabinet. If you release the pressure it returns back to its normal shape, so it took a lot of fussing to get the box to be plumb and true - something I never struggled with their previous metal box.
Hinged door was an easy install with plastic hinges and latches, but even this seems a bit flimsy. I'm sure there is a reason for this to be made of plastic, but it just didn't have the same quality feeling as previous models.

This cabinet is designed to hold the Leviton Structured Media Center components. Think about how nice it would be to have all your communication/media/smart home devices in one cabinet! That's what Leviton created.
This box is a very good size. It's 42" tall, so there's a lot of space inside. The unit can be mounted between studs or on top of drywall. It also comes with a paint shield, so you can paint the box to match the wall - or contrast.
I noticed that the outside of the bottom has aluminum taped to it. Maybe for heat dissipation? And of course there are knock outs for feeding wire through.
The door is a one piece with vents built in. The hinges are either left or right hand and the door latches closed. The door can be opened a full 180 degrees!
There's a pegboard type back for the box, which holds the shelves, cable routing and other components.
The box is transparent to RF, so signals are not blocked. The box also dissipates heat.
I decided to install my box in the garage vs inside the house. I live in CA, so the weather is okay for either location. The garage does get a little hot in the summer, so it may not work - I'll give it a try.
I'm looking forward to getting the right shelves and cable management, so I can clean up the current hodgepodge of components we have. We still have some Z-Wave components, or course our Uverse (Cable and internet), Alexa Hub and our wireless light bulb hub.
I also think the convenience of knowing where all the components are is a great help. Think of it like your circuit breaker panel. When a circuit goes, you know where to find the breaker.
My only disappointment was that I thought this was a complete kit with all the miscellaneous things like shelves, cable management, etc included. Otherwise, it would've been an excellent rating.

Very well made and I am excited to get it installed. Comes with these clips that when clipped in form the hinges on one side and the close clips on the other side. Hinge side is reversible, you decide that when you take it out of the box and install the hinges. Tons of flexibility with the mounting and positioning tabs. Has foil tape across the top and bottom openings for grounding. I will be so happy to get all my electronics enclosed and off of shelving.

If you're looking for a way to organize your home IT equipment, this just might be the thing you need. Leviton's 42 in. Wireless Structured Media Center with Vented Hinged Door was the perfect compromise between a datacenter rack and custom shelving. All truly needed was space for a small unmanaged switch, the house mesh Wi-Fi router, Samsung SmartThings hub, and Ring Security hub. This let me not only get it all out of the way and neatly organized, but it also saved space by allowing me to recess it into the wall.
Just be careful with the heat that is generated from what you place in it, the ventilation is not bad, but it's certainly going to get toasty with the door closed. I might use one of the larger knock-outs for an exhaust, but that's a whole new project.

I have had this unit put up for a bit now and would like to say that it has stood up to the abuse it gets in my shop. Being as the shop is on the smaller side this thing gets bumped into and stuff gets leaned against it all the time. Along with that it has not busted off the wall so it had good strength in its hanging. Also one of the best features is the paint guard included with it. That is a top quality paint guard and you won't want to throw it away.
