This is a wall jack for a traditional phone from the 70's-2000's (some companies still use it today). I say this because the instructions that came with it are for CAT 5 & 6 jacks and not the red,green, black yellow 4 wire jack that this is. The pics on the HD website are also different than what I received directly from Leviton (see pics below) For those who may not know, a few things... 1. Wear non conducting gloves and while hooking up the bare wires use long nose pliers with a rubber grip as phone lines do have electricity running thru them when the phone rings, (I believe it's 36 volts) 2. Most homes use just the red & green wires. 3. The green & black wires are usually used for a 2nd phone line in a house (used for a kids line or FAX machine years ago) 4. Make a small loop with the bare wire and have the end of the wire to the right, put it under the screw and then tighten the screw, the wire will tighten down correctly as you tighten the screw over it. (if you do it backwards the wire will come out from under the screw.) This cover is a little bit over sized to cover wall issues or old paint lines which is nice.

Midway 6P4C telephone wall jack is a well mane wall jack with comes in white, ivory and light almond. It is very easy to install with color coded fillip screw connections. It comes with hardware to install, But you need phone wire and standard electrical box. I like this type of cover because it is has a much cleaner look over the plate with the round center hole and the wire hanging out the hole. I hope this help you with your decision. We are up dating our wall telephone jacks from ivory to a lighter tone that is more in style with today. We found this jack to be of good quality and of course the installation was quick and easy simply connecting two wires that were color coded to the existing wiring, the whole job took about 5 minutes. Very pleased with the result and look of the new unit.

I ordered this Midway 6P4C Telephone Wall Jack in Light Almond because we bought an older home and we are changing out the one wall jack that we have because the one in our old home is approximately 39yrs. old and needs to be replaced. This new wall plate is the right color and comes with the wiring in place so there will be no mistakes but you should always use an authorized technician when you are dealing with anything electric. This wall jack also comes with 2 screws and the wiring configurations and important instructions.

Great replacement telephone wire/connector wall plate. I needed to replace the plate in a a 60 year old house and this was great as the plate cover is just a bit (3/8") larger than the old one and it covered the plasterboard chips on the edges of the old install. It comes with the wire connections and screws with very detailed instructions so even a novice can install it. Good choice!

Very well made phone outlet that is way nicer than the old mount on the wall box type.the installation is simple and fairly quick. When you buy the wall jack plate get a single gang old work box which does not need a stud to mount to. Which the old work box you Mark your opening cut the hole in the wall and the box has wings that spread out securing the box to the wall and run your phone wire through the box , connect to the wall hack and screw the wall jack to the box. Professional looking job done in fifteen minutes or less.
