This changes the game completely! There are two reasons why it does so. First, it is very cheap for the range of solutions that it provides. Second, it is very versatile to be used with any piece of equipment within 15A. Third, it allows control through the app. As long as you have an internet connection and an a router you can safely and securely access this plug from anywhere in the world. You don't need a timer, as you can set a schedule to do that for you on the app. It integrates seamlessly with Google assistant, Alexa, Nest and IFTTT which opens the next level of integration of smart management of your house. Leviton have the equipment that is built in the wall box, but I much like this plug in better as it allows me to change place as needed and plug it in various places where I need it. It does not reset with a power outage, so once you have power to the device it will work effortlessly. I am using it with 5GHz router but I see that the device works on 2.4GHz, I haven't tested it on 5G, but for home application, I'd rather have it stay at 2.4G. Another nice touch is that it modules the the power of the signal down to have a stable connection and does not force usage of a specific channel like your thermostat for instance, or a printer that may cause a problem with IP assignment from your router. It is designed to be a plug-and-forget tool and Leviton have succeeded to bring to the market a next level solution for next level requirements. It does provide better control and functionality, energy efficient management at a better price and more solutions at your fingertips hidden in something so small and mundane. Design is very unobtrusive and mimics some of the timers our there, and it does not interfere with any other plug type that I know of. I found that the smartest application is to use it with a dehumidifier and it did turn that into a plug and forget type of installation. It does work, that's the best for me, and for a fraction of the price of alternative types of equipment.

Would have rated a 5 but these things come with old firmware that won't communicate with newer Android OS. Had to call support and then had to find an older device to use. Luckily we had an older tablet we could use to load the app and setup each device. Then could find the device on my phone and use it to update the devices firmware. All was good after that but kind of a hassle to deal with.

The smart WiFi mini plugs are great, I own 4 of them! They work great for the Christmas tree and decorations!
