I don't know about that I never did that before but I think it will work to replace from old one to a new one and test it if it did work just fine then no problem at all so try your best as you can ok
I don’t see why not, but I’d ask an electrician or look it up online.
The short answer people do it all the time. It would be best to attempt to ground it but sometimes it can't be done. Old wiring had no grounding, then an improvement had an external light gauge wire run attaching to the metal box. BX or armored cable acted as a ground when clamped to the metal box and a light gauge wire was added as a ground and as codes became stricter a full gauge ground wire was mandated. Some people run a separate wire to a cold water pipe to act as a ground when needed.
Yes
the toggle switch powers the slide switch. you can hook up more than one light to the switch, but you can't bypass the slide.
I'm not sure I understand your question Jim. But I'll take a guess you're possibly powering 14 nine watt LED lights. If that's the case you will have no problem using 150 watt dimmer switch. I don't have one in front of me right now but I'm almost positive they're rated for much more than a hundred and fifty Watts
I just installed mine over the weekend and realized the 'universal' word added to the description. You can install it as a single pole or 3-way. Only one dimmer can be on the circuit and if it is installed as a three way, the 4th lead wire will need to be used as a bypass so both switches will function properly. You will need to re-wire for full function ability. My previous answer to your question was only partially correct.
Probably not. Get a Lutron brand dimmer.

I now have two of these switches. They work great, slide up and down to make the light dim, press toggle on bottom to turn the light on and off. NOT automated. Hope this helps.
