Questions & Answers

Can this be used with LED light bulbs?

I'm looking for a lamp dimmer that can take LED light bulbs.
Asked by: jetblacksea
Dimmable bulbs are recommended with the default settings but I see that there is a way to access the advanced options menu 2 ways. The problem is that those 2 ways aren't explained in the paperwork. I plan to make a call to Leviton very soon to figure it out. If anyone else knows how please share.

Customer Reviews

Z-Wave Enabled 100-Watt LED/CFL or 300-Watt Incandescent Scene Capable Plug-In Lamp Module with LED Locator, White is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Another junk device from Leviton! So I bought two of the Z-Wave Hardwired outlets and tried them and found them to be built very cheap. So I bought this thinking that by the reviews it would be better. I found the construction of this device to be very cheap as well and worked intermittently just is the other Leviton devices performed. I’m a journeyman electrician who has installed Leviton devices for over 20 years but I’ve been grossly disappointed in this new line of products and can totally understand why Home Depot would choose to discontinue selling this item. I will definitely be returning these products!

I used the Hub to interface with my Google Home. Set up was a bit of a buger until I figured out that you only had to add it using the Google Home phone/tablet app. I tried using the instructions that came from Leviton which tell you to link it up to your home network, but before you can link it to your home network you have to create an account at Myleviton.com first. After an hour of troubleshooting on my own I was able to figure out that you only have to link it using the HOME app from google using the "add device" section. You still need the hub to make it work because it bridges the gap between your Google Assistant and the device. Once I added the device using the "Google Home" app on my phone, it works like a charm. I named it "Entry Lights" and was instantly able to say "Hey Google, turn on the Entry Lights" and whamo! they came on. Definitely worth the time invested to get it sync'd, and I figured there would be a learning curve for the first one. I'm on the way to Home Depot to get a couple more for lights we use as accent lighting on tables around the house. My wife loves them because she doesn't have to go through and manually turn off both lamps by hand. I used an extension cord to plug both lamps into and plugged the extension cord into the lamp module. The lamps are LED which only pull maybe 20 watts max between the two of them. Plus I don't have to worry about wearing out the switch built into the lamps due to overuse. Take the plunge and buy the SmartThings Hub. Once you get the hub, you open your world to endless different devices to make life easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from unfairly addictive My initial "free" Leviton appliance module has now led to now nine, including this non-polarized 300w incandescent model. Pre-Christmas they were selling out in minutes online, squeeze-me-elmos for quasi-adults. I'm running a sonic humidifier on this, didn't check the wattage but knew it was well under 300w, though I was surprised a humidifier is ungrounded. Like the appliance modules, my only problem has been with the Wink unit and software, though taking Wink's instructions to move it beyond 15' from your wifi source seriously now has it going offline only once a day. Wink's software is easy to use, well laid out, and when it feels like connecting everything, everything works wonders. I've not tried Samsung's SmartThings, but they hiked their price 50% since the holidays, which might indicate theirs works more consistently. Either way, I have no reason to believe any timer failure has had anything to do with the Leviton modules.
