Can these be use on a bottom mount drawer?

If the depth of the cabinet is 19 3/4 from inside back to outside front and rail has to be attached to frame rather than side a 20 inch appears to be too long if a 20 is actually 20 and an 18 would be too short. Replacing rails that are this size without a cleat at the rear. Is the 18 inch the only one that will work but will have to install a cleat at the rear. Drawer is 17 inches. Any suggestions?

You will need to use an 18" length slide and might need to use wood backing on the back. I want to use these on a 15" laptop tray which is mounted inside an 18" cabinet. Is it better to use the 16" slides (with the understanding that it will extend an inch beyond the tray at the back) or the 14" slides. I want to be sure that I get full extension of the tray in order to fully accommodate a laptop.

screws come with them to fasten the slides to the side of cabinet and drawer. They are about 1/2" long.
No, there are not screws with the drawer slides. I would use the #8 x 1/2" lathe screws. The super sharp not the self drill screws. The screws come in a nice plastic bin. It's what I use to hardware dwr cabinsta. Wayne
