I was lucky and did not run into any rocks or big roots while installing. The reel wheel fit the two supplied screws on the post. I like the looks, so I hope it will last for many years. I used a rubber mallet to hammer it into the ground so I would not scratch the paint.

This Liberty Garden Americana hose stand will be a functional addition to my cottage when I install it along with the optional Liberty Garden 150 ft. hose hanger in the Spring, when its warm enough to get the hoses out of storage. It has convenient tabs to mount the hose stand on it and can be tightened. There is a step to use to push the stand in with your foot. Both the spigot and handle are made of brass.

I am very pleased with the "Liberty Garden Americana Hose Stand Post, Black" and it looks exactly as the picture. It is hollow, so not heavy, but still solid and well made. There was one thing, the information said it came with a "Liberty Americana Hose Hanger", unless I read it wrong. Mine did not so I purchased a generic brand since I could not afford the Liberty. No doubt theirs would have been a much better fit but I will just have to make do. I am looking forward to having my hose neatly put away!

Taking the stand a hose holder together, both seem sturdy enough to hold the weight of heavier anti-kink hose. For the stand, it was not too hard but also not easy to insert the stand into wet soil (it has been raining around here). I had to wiggle it and stomp on the base to get it to go in. It was impossible to get the stand to go in level and plumb. There is only one side that you can step on which causes the stand to tilt in that direction as you press it into the ground. Combining the resistance of the soil and the design of the stand, I was not able to get the stand to point straight upwards. This stand performs a useful function for us because the hose bib is on the house and there are a number of shrubs between the house and where we regularly use the hose. So, it has been a pain to get the hose out of the way or, if we leave it out, walk over it. This stand is ideally suited for that kind of problem (see installed photo). There are a number of ways that the set together (stand and hose holder) could be improved. First, the stand could be about 12" taller. Trying to hold about 80' of hose with coils large enough that they are easy to form leaves the coils on the ground instead of hanging in the air (see pictures). Also, the width of the coil holder is fairly narrow. A wider holder would make it easier to coil the hose and hold longer lengths of hose above the ground. See photo of hose resting on ground. The hose bib has a traditional valve on it. A 1/4 turn ball valve would be much more convenient to use. Putting at least a second spot on the bottom to press down on the opposite side of the first would make it easier to insert the stand and keep it pointing upright when you are done. It would be even better to be able to have spots to press on around all four sides of the stand. Doing that and extending the current design in four directions would also make it more likely to resist tilting sideways later on as well. Closing off the bottom of the pipe (it is left open) would likely protect the interior from corrosion and may also make it easier to insert the stand into the ground. I would design it with the point in the center rather than on one side so that the base will be more likely to go into the soil straight. The current design seemed to make the stand tilt as it went into the soil. The best fitting hex key for tightening the hex bolt was a metric hex key. For products sold in the US an SAE size would be more appropriate. There was not a key included with the product. With this system, things are better in our yard than before; still, the suggestions above would make the setup easier to install and easier to use over time. I would be willing to pay more for the improvements.

This is a very good weight and should be able to hold a normal, heavy hose. I only have one of those hoses that shrink up and is lighter in weight. I'm not sure if a regular hose longer than 50ft in length would be able to be held by this. Not sure there is enough room. I love that there is a spigot to attach the outdoor faucet to. Less leaning over. It will take a lot of pressure to stick the stand into the dirt based on how hard your dirt is. I like the different holders you can get for the stand. You get that separately. It is very easy to slide on and it will definitely hold.

We have been using the LIBERTY GARDEN AMERICANA HOSE STAND POST WITH HOSE BIB, BLACK for a couple of weeks now and are very impressed with the quality of the stand post. It is surprisingly sturdy and the overall appearance is lovely if you are trying to get the "farmhouse" look. The stand post is used in conjunction with the Liberty Garden Hose Hanger which is easy to attach. Placing in the ground is easy with the foot stand. We were looking for something to hold our garden hose vs. circling on the ground. As you can see from the photos, both Liberty Garden items hold the hose nicely. Although we attached the hose to the bib to see how it worked, we felt tugging the hose around to the areas in the yard where we water the plants would render the pole unstable so we think we will primarily use it as a holder. It is too soon to tell how it will hold up to the Florida rain and heat, but we have it under the eaves which may help its longevity. Highly recommend this product.

I needed a way to organize my garden hose and the Liberty Garden Americana hose stand post is an excellent solution. I easily placed the post to the ground and it seems stable on the ground. The round top of the post dents easily, but the post is durable enough to hold my hose. The bib is a practical way to reach further spots in the yard without buying a longer hose, which would be too heavy. The hose hanger fits and stores my hose without having an eyesore in my front yard. With the post I did not have to permanently attach the hanger to my stucco.

This is a very nice hose stand post. The brass fittings are very substantial and are nice looking to boot. It is a sturdy metal with a decorative finial on top so it's adding some design to your yard or garden. I love the idea of having the ability to move the post and hose storage to different parts of the yard and not have to drag the entire hose around. I also have a hose holder by the same company that fits the nobs on top extend the length of hose I have in the yard. I have all my faucets covered for the winter so I can't take pix of the hoses attached but I can tell you it will be a lifesaver.

LIBERTY GARDEN AMERICANA HOSE STAND POST WITH HOSE BIB, BLACK wrought iron is very sturdy. I also purchased the Liberty Garden Americana 150 ft. Galvanized Welcome Hose Hanger, Black & Silver to use. It is also wrought iron and hooks on very easily to the hose stand post. It will be nice to put in my yard after the winter and easier to place anywhere I want it.

The Liberty hose stand post is made very well. I am not sure if it is metal or formed, but it feels solid. However, probably not solid enough to hammer on the top. I live in Austin area, west of I-35, which means we have a lot of limestone pieces or layers in the dirt. This rock starts about 3 to 4 inches down. This posed a problem as it was not possible to stand on the bottom of the post and drive it into the ground. I did not hit the top with a hammer or mallet. I used a 2x4 on the foot ledge to try to bang in the post further after standing on it halted progression. It didn't work well. Then I used a rebar and drove it into the ground. The post was still wobbly. East of I-35 is clay (or where there is just soli) and this would work much better. I drove in the post and had to use a flat rock on the bottom to increase stability. I tested the hose and nothing leaked. When I started wrapping a cold hose the post started wobbling. Also, when a hose hanger is used, it is too close to the ground. The hose will not fit on the post if I have to make two foot circles. This hose post is to be used for a supplement to vegetable garden irrigation. For my purpose the host post is not a good product. It is too short and there is no way to drive it into the ground. But for quality build, it looked okay.
