where are mounting screws on dark pewter top or middle

AnswersI am confused. I am replacing a pull of this style that broke. The original one that broke has the mounting holes in the middle of the plate at the outer edge. Most of the answers here say the mounting holes are at the top except the Liberty answer says the mounting holes are in the middle. Which is correct? Thanks.
Do you attach this handle through the back or front? I need one that attaches through the front.

I used these pulls along with 33 mm Black Triangle Top Knobs on an mahogany desk I built for my son. They look very classy. I did have to buy longer screws as the ones that came with the pulls were too short for my application.

The piece matched my existing dresser hardware perfectly in color and design. Dimensions are less than 1/16th of an inch different but you can't tell without measuring. Great value, great price, free delivery to store, the necessary hardware was included. What else can a customer ask for.
