When will Restored Wood be available?

We have just completely remodeled our beach house and thought we had purchased enough flooring for the entire house. Everything we bought previously is installed and we are minus four cases. We need them ASAP for contractors to finish the job.

Only problems were if we had to take a joint apart, it wouldn't go back together with any holding power, so the next course of planks were needed for a tight fit. Also didn't have as much variation among planks in some boxes, so definitely need to open up all of them for random boards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this flooring! This floor was very easy to install for my husband and I. He did the cutting while I did the laying. I will say that the scoring and snapping is not a very good method for this flooring. Go buy the $70 blade that can cut soft wood and veneer and it will make your life a lot easier. We used the miter saw and a table saw to do our cuts and also tin snips. The tapping block and the mallet are a great tool to install this flooring as they will not click together without them. if you make a mistake after tapping the plank in place , be very careful on how you remove the planks. We damaged one trying and learned real quick that you lift the long side up a little to un click it and for the side you must slide it towards you. Do not try to lift or un click the side. Wiggle it to slide toward you. When it came to the last piece where you can not use the block or mallet we just used a small pry bar to lock in the planks. This floor all around is just perfect. Very scratch resistant completely waterproof and has the texture of real wood.

This product is, however, not waterproof. The following is our experience culminating today, this very day. We had installed, some ten years ago, a Home Depot product that was vinyl plank with glue strips. "Allure" was great; easy to install, dog proof, puppy leak proof, everything. It lasted a lot longer than we had planned. But it was finally showing its age and we decided to replace it. Bought this LifeProof product, figuring it to be an upgrade in quality as well as price, easy to install, softer and warmer on the feet than ceramic, said to be waterproof. Let me introduce my main topic: it's not waterproof. We ordered ten boxes of the flooring, it came pretty fast, decent packaging, etc. We read the instructions and installed it three weeks ago, taking about a day and a half in a galley kitchen. The pieces click together in a satisfying way and you can see where they might not be tight together. No real problems except the last plank near the back door which was hard to click and needed a tap or three with a mallet. So, over the past three weeks we've been enjoying to product as much as one can enjoy a kitchen floor. In that time, puppy had two piddles, neither major, in the middle of the floor, which I wiped up and sprayed lightly with Atmosklear (good stuff, removes odor). Momma dog is a messy drinker and always has been -- she drinks and then wanders about, drooling water. No big deal, as the floor's waterproof, right? It says it's waterproof. I went over it with a Swiffer wetjet a few times too. So this morning, Spousal Unit noticed little beads of water glistening between the planks, kind of outlining them, in the middle of the floor and over to the dining room side. Must be a drop or two on the surface, eh? I walked over it, and heard/felt the squish squish of wet under the floating floor. It was floating, all right, floating on three-weeks fermented puppy leakage and water. The liquids had seeped in the cracks, to be added to by the general wet of ordinary kitchen life and momma dog's drinking. I pulled up the planks by the back door, and kept going. In the middle of the floor all the way over to the dining room, there was wet. Gross, fermented wet. One of the least appealing things I have ever encountered. This floor is not waterproof. I cannot recommend it, if you use water in your kitchen. So that's $600 and two weekends wasted. I think we'll tile the floor now. After the fermented you-know-what is cleaned out.

We were replacing wall-to-wall carpeting in several rooms on the first floor of my house. This vinyl composite flooring was the perfect solution for me to re-floor my basement-level rooms on a concrete slab. It is textured to look like real wood, but is much more durable than a wood floor for this location. The flooring went down easily with standard tools (laminate flooring installation tool kit, dead-blow hammer, circular saw, jigsaw, etc.). The premium 1/4" thick planks have a slight cushioning and are vinyl-backed so they can cover slightly imperfect surfaces. The pieces interlock together to form a waterproof seal, which will seal out dampness from my concrete slab - plus provide a waterproof barrier in the event that I ever have plumbing issues. For anyone considering a way to remodel a concrete slab floor, this is ideal and I highly recommend it. The natural color and embossed woodgrain texture make this wide-plank vinyl flooring really look like a hardwood installation! The company offers a lifetime warranty for home (non-commercial) installations too!

It got “christened” by our 14 year old dachshund minutes after we finished the floor. Clean up? Easy. Looks really good. Feels good under your feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I am not an experienced floor installer, but I did it by myself with the wall spacers, the tapping block, a rubber mallet and a miter saw. I'm so proud of myself! It's very easy to install and fits very tight. I was nervous of the coloring since the in-store samples varied so drastically per color choice, but I'm happy with how it looks all laid out. Has nice pink and brown hues in it. It does look like a real wood floor, so it's funny to step on it and feel that it's vinyl. I will say that lots of ends were damaged from the shipping. I saved those ends for my cut-offs, but I was disappointed with so much unexpected damage.

I have installed vinyl plank flooring from 2 other manufacturers at different price points and I can say that this product is worth the investment. The locking mechanism works like a dream and the seams disappear like magic. The integrated underlayment provides just the right amount of cushion to mask minor imperfections in the subfloor and provides for a nice quiet walking experience. Does not sound like walking on a marble floor when you are moving around. I initially was concerned that the coloring would be too light, but with the rich variety in the coloration and patterns the installation looks amazing. The only negative I have found is that very occasionally, a plank will have some excess covering (unnoticeable to the eye) and when you use the tapping block to lock it in place the edge will chip and you have to replace the plank. Overall I love this product and highly recommend it.
