Worst flooring I have ever installed
Beautiful color, more of a warm Jacobean color than the pictures show. The quality is one of the worst I have ever used. The beads do not snap into place because they are made of cardboard and disintegrated upon install. I didn’t even get to tap them in and they were falling apart. I can’t believe Home Depot would stand behind something this poor in quality. Be smarter than me and buy nicer stuff.

Do not buy, doesn’t stay locked together
Save yourself a whole bunch of trouble. This is the worst laminate flooring I’ve had to try to install. The interlocking mechanism is difficult to lock in the first place, and then when you try to secure the next rows it comes apart as you’re trying to install with a mallet and block or tongue tool. You can get refunded on the laminate flooring, but they will not compensate for the loss in labor cost due to a defective product even after speaking with multiple representatives at 1-800-430-3376.

              Difficult Installation and defective product
Last year I installed some Lifeproof LVP and had no issues, but unfortunately that color got discontinued so I bought this one to coordinate for an adjacent room thinking that the quality would be the same. It was not. The installation was terrible. The top surface chips easily whenever you try to tap the end pieces into place. One of my boards also had a permanent blue line, like a machinery guide, so I will have to buy an entire box of flooring for my last board in this install.

                Hard to assemble
I have mixed views on this product. It is a pain to assemble. Direction says join the long ends then tap the short ends together. This was not easy and we had a lot of chipping of the planks and the pieces that join together. We could not find a product video or online video showing how to join it. When we did get it together, we had a number of chips which, for a top of the line product, was disheartening. We were only joining 3-4 pieces length wise. So we joined all the short pieces for each line, then put the long ends together as one piece and tapped them into place. Luckily there were two of us. I read previous messages and called the number left by the company for bad response. That was on a Saturday. I know there wasn’t much they could do at that point, but I did not get a return call ( today is Thursday). Overall, we love the look and feel of the completed project.

                  Exceptional
NOT the FAULT of this product!: The only "downside" to this flooring is it requires the proper tools to make installing easy! If a DIY'er like myself you'll need to buy the right saw OR plan for installment to take longer than need be, BUT it's WORTH it! The backing of the flooring is a thick'ish firm foam that the average saw is not going to appreciate, but that foam is EXCELLENT for flooring. As someone with a very bad back that foam takes the shock off of my footsteps that radiates up to my spine, it makes all the difference! Because it has its own foam it eliminates having to install padding before installing the flooring. I hate padding because its bulky and heavy, with this flooring no need! But YES this flooring is on the heavy side; 5 planks per box and whooo each box is a good 60+ lbs. WORTH IT! Snapping into place is a breeze. I've installed a good bit of flooring and this laminate has been the BEST I've used by far!

Looks fantastic and feels great underfoot
I can think of little things more satisfying than ripping up old carpeting and installing new flooring. After trying luxury vinyl plank, engineered and laminate wood flooring, I’m hooked! This time I wanted to try a darker color so chose this Lifeproof American canyon oak, which is a light chocolate brown color. The first thing I noticed about this was the padding because adding an additional underlayment can get pretty pricey. I definitely prefer that it’s already attached. I then noticed the size of the tongue and grooves. With the smaller sizes they can be a little difficult to join and keep together so I do like the larger size tongues and grooves, which to me makes installation easier. Important aspects for me with laminate flooring is that it is easy to install, looks great, is hard to scratch, easy to clean, and water resistant or as in this case, waterproof. If you’ve installed laminate flooring before you probably don’t need instructions but I think they should still be included. The instructions for this flooring is on the outside of the box. I think they should be enclosed as well. Installation is typical and the tools I use to install are L-spacers, rubber mallet and a metal pull bar. For stubborn gaps I use a brass hammer. This flooring is thick but still cuts easily with a jigsaw for the odd cutouts and a sliding miter saw for straight cuts. Feels great underfoot and looks great too. Love this versatile color. Because scratches can occur unexpectedly while installing, I do recommend nothing is slid across the surface and rubber sole shoes are worn during install. Place inexpensive felt rounds under furniture feet. This helps furniture slide across the floor and prevents scratches. Handle with care so the tongues can stay intact. Life proof is known for being one of the leaders in laminate flooring and this flooring is no exception. I’m using on a bedroom floor but this flooring can also be used on walls and ceilings. The box even includes a handy sq. footage chart that tells you exactly how many boxes you will need for future installments. Has a warranty but the exact warranty is not specified that I could find. Five planks per case. I love it and highly recommend it.

                  Quality Flooring
I have Lifeproof carpeting in my home which I am very happy with so I decided to order this flooring. I was not disappointed. It is over half an inch thick and very solid. It is described as medium brown but to me it is more of a dark brown. Be sure to get a sample before you order. It actually looks like real wood. I did not want real wood because I plan to have it installed in a bathroom. I cannot speak to ease of installation because I am hiring a professional but my installer said it should not be difficult. This is a great product.

quality floor, rigid boards, looks beautiful, waterproof, but IMO not medium-brown (get a sample)
Absolutely beautiful and excellent quality.  In my opinion laminate is making a comeback.  Gone are the days of thin laminate with inferior backing which can't handle any water at all.  This laminate has thick, rigid boards with attached underlay.  I recently installed eight hundred square feet of laminate on a concrete slab.  I highly recommend using a vapor barrier especially in Florida where humidity is an issue. As I said this laminate is thick and rigid which easily covers minor slab imperfections such as chips and small holes.  The boards are thicker so there is a more substantial click-lock system.  I had no problem putting them together.  According to instructions the long side should be angled into place first then tap-in the shortside.  I recommend a quality pull-bar and tapping block. I did a scratch-test on the AC5 surface and it is much harder than AC4.  AC5 is acceptable to me whereas AC 4 will scratch easily.   That said, I still recommend pads or carpeting under heavy objects especially if they move around.  Also this floor feels more like a traditional wood floor.  It's solid and feels nice to walk on.  The boards themselves are beautiful, the design and surface has a nice to look at.  However, in my opinion, the color is not "medium brown", in fact it is more of a gray-brown.  I included a few pics alongside different brown laminate floors.  I highly recommend ordering a sample to see if it's the color you want.  That said, the board itself looks beautiful and if the color suits you it really is a nice floor.

Great looking flooring that is simple to install if you plan ahead and pay attention
I really like the color of the Eagle Plains Oak and the way it picks up light coming through the basement windows. I'm putting this over DriCore+ to finish rooms in the basement and the installation has been very straight forward. You do have to measure ahead and plan for your row end cuts to meet the 16 inch recommended minimum and the beginning and ending row widths minimum 3 1/2 inches. I don't like the look of diagonal stagger of joints so planning let me achieve the much more random joint appearance that we prefer. Taking the boards out of the boxes watch the patterns carefully as some boxes might contain several of the same pattern and we prefer to keep the patterns randomly distributed for better appearance. Pulling boards from several boxes at once helps randomization but you still want to lay each board and check before installing. When you are cutting the end boards to length it is better to have the saw teeth cutting from the bottom to the top surface of the board. Commercial wear ratings like AC5 are very abrasive and will dull saw teeth quickly if you cut into the top and out the bottom. The installation instructions are printed on the box and are complete. It is helpful to have a floor pulling tool since you can't get a tapping block on the end board at the wall, the pulling tool will fit and lets you pull the end joints tight. Each board has a bit of adhesive on the long joint so be sure you are installing the board you want because it becomes very hard to disassemble the floor without causing damage. The tight joints and adhesive make Lifeproof a very strong and stable floor surface.
