I have never timed it but once you empty, clean and refill with garden hose cold water I would say it takes at least 12 hours or so. It is friction heated so it does take a while but once it is heated it is not hard to keep it that way. This is in Oklahoma but it was about the same in Cali. We usually give it all day. I think the manual says 24 hours.
It’s a plug and play hot tub, of course it’s a DIY project.
Yes, you need to use chemicals with this spa.
