Sturdy and Roomy
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Home Depot carries sporting goods like this 13' canoe with paddles. There are 5 in our family, including 3 teenagers, so this is a great addition to our camping/outdoor gear. It's very spacious: I (at 5'8") can ride in it comfortably with my 6'5" son and 5'11" daughter, when I sit on the middle seat. The only downside to the middle seat is that there is not a seat back like the two other seats have. We tried out the fishing rod holders in the middle seat and were happy with that convenience. Getting it to and from a lake is little tricky for me only because of its weight. We transport it by putting it upside down on our van's roof racks with foam supports, and tie it down with two nylon straps. We drove 9 hours with it, so we also attached ropes to the stern and bow to keep wind from picking it up off of the roof. It's too heavy for me to lift up to the car top without my husband or son, so I won't be able to use it unless they are coming along. On the water, it glides very smoothly and is stable. It is very easy to steer and takes little energy to paddle with the included paddles. Everyone loves it, and we look forward to many excursions on the lake in our little canoe.

Fantastic Family Canoe - just add lifejackets
I've owned a lot of kayaks and canoes over the years - but haven't had a boat in awhile. With our daughter turning three - this was the perfect way to get back onto flat water - just add life jackets and canoes! My wife was surprised at how much fun we had on our first outing and she's already planning as many as we can get in for the remainder of the season Shipping: I wasn't sure what to expect to get a canoe shipped to my door. Turns out it's pretty simple. It gets sent to a local delivery house then they give you a two hour window for it to be delivered. It's shipped in two large bags and comes out quickly Boat itself 1.) Great value to have everything you need for paddling short of life vests included. Everything is a budget version but the paddles are strong, the seats are comfy and the added features like back rests and cup holders will let you enjoy the boat for awhile. 2.) Good design for a variety of uses - simple paddling and/or trolling (a mount is included for an electric motor), wide enough with cup holders for an on the water picnic, rod holders for fishing - ultimately though with it's flat bottom and molded plastic construction it's a flat water only boat - no big waves or rapids 2.) Tracks well and can be paddled easily from the rear position. We also tried a kayak paddle for single use with great success 3.) Molded plastic so while the canoe is inexpensive - the trade off is it's heavy. You'll want two people to load the boat on a car or use a hitch mounted assistant (available from Thule or Yakima) We kicked ourselves for not hooking up the mounting point for the trolling motor once we found out the local lake rents them at $10/day Additional thoughts 1.) The internet highly recommended you get your kid a paddle even if they won't have an impact. Our three year old was entertained for over an hour with our little paddle. Great decision 2.) Boat needs additional weight in the front if you want to paddle it solo. You can see in my picture how much the front lifts (I'm 190lbs) 3.) Kayak style life jackets are a little more expensive but so much more comfortable since they breathe and don't impede arm movement.

Beautiful, Well Made, Great Seats!
Our family loves camping and outdoor activities so we were excited to add a canoe to our outdoor supplies. We love the optional seat backs (for the front and back seats only) which makes things more comfortable for longer trips. There is a drainage plug on the top of the front of the canoe which makes it easy to drain any water out of the inside. There is also a small wheel at the back so you can easily pick the canoe up at the front and roll it. It’s a very small wheel, so it wouldn’t likely do much on gravel or grass, but it does allow you to maneuver it around a bit easier on land (it’s a lot heavier than I thought it would be). We don’t have any use for a motor, so I can’t comment on the motor mount—aside from stating that it does come with the mount and instructions for installation. You can see from the picture how the seat backs are removable. It comes with two paddles as well. The canoe is well made, sturdy (though a bit heavy), and, as experienced canoers, we would definitely recommend it!

nice but damaged
Overall I think this is a great canoe not to mention the amount of space and conversion options. You can easily add to this boat to make it very easy and convenient for fishing. It already has two rod holders cut into the middle bench and would accommodate swivel rod holders near the other two seats. It also comes with the bracket needed to mount a trolling motor. The only complaint I have is it was delivered damaged. I am a little worried about the large dent in the front and there are also a couple significant gouges along the sides. I only gave a 3 star rating because I am giving the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt. The damage may have occurred during shipping. However, to be honest it does appear that they shipped it this way.

Amazing company
I bought a canoe off Craigslist, a Kodiak 13. I called lifetime and told them I bought a canoe but it did not come with a trolling motor mount, they sent me one no questions asked. I love this company and would not hesitate to buy from them again
