This a followup to my previous review last week. I can no longer recommend this item for replacement of the Mansfield Flush Valve 211. First a correction on my flushing action observation. The valve does not seat fast enough so the bowl backfills and then the valve seats. The mfr's rep thought the flushing action was caused by air in the bowl trap. After a week of manually lifting the handle to close the valve after the bowl clears the first time I concluded the valve body is not weighted properly (compare the mass difference between my old valve and the replacement valve). My low-tech solution to the problem was finding a sweet spot in the arm or body to add some weight. Added weight is about 2.5 oz in the picture. I will be returning the second valve purchased and will keep looking for an exact replacement valve.

Not an identical replacement for a 211 flush valve
I recommend this product since it is listed as a replacement for a Mansfield 211 flush valve. Comparing its shape to the manufacture's literature told me it is an identical replacement for the Mansfield 210 1.6 gif toilets. The replacement valve is 1/4" longer than what was installed and with the stop cap installed my filler tube was crimped by the toilet tank lid and significantly slowed the filling of the tank. The solution for me was to remove the stop cap (it is threaded). The new valve flushing action is a little weird. As the tank discharges and the toilet bowl clears, the valve seats slowly, once seated the toilet bowl fills momentarily then clears again before normal tank and bowl filling occurs. The good thing after 24 hrs of use - it is working reliably. Buying a new spud gasket and tank bolts/washers will make the job go smoothly.

I would give it 5 stars if the black "washer"...
I would give it 5 stars if the black "washer" were part of the top which moves. I did not feel that the bottom needed to be removed as it appeared to be fine. In addition, to change it would require the toilet top to be removed and my handyman didn't want to do that.
