Decent router, not very customizable
I'm kind of disappointed in this router. The first major flaw is in the user interface. Your Wi-fi passwords (both your normal network and guest network) are displayed in plain text. Next, the network map feature will show disconnected devices as connected. Additionally, you can't customize the firewall. Also, the speed check feature doesn't actually work for me just a blank page loads (pictured) and I'm using a supported browser and updated firmware. Finally, I think Linksys needs to update their web interface to include more advanced features. However, I generally have 15-18 devices connected to it at any given time, some streaming video while others are used for home automation, and I don't notice any network lags or reliability issues.

Hi, KPenn, We truly appreciate your taking the time to share your product insights. However, having such issues with the Speedtest tool is totally unexpected. Hello, Mike, Slow internet speed behind the Linksys EA7300 may be resolved after a power-cycle. If the same concern occurs after a reboot, then you may try disabling the IPv6, and try disabling the Media Prioritization to further isolate the trouble. Update us then over email at LinksysCares@linksys.com as our Escalation Engineers wants to assist you with this. You may include your contact info and the link of this review (for our reference) upon sending the email. Regards, Elyza Linksys Support

Not too old to do it yourself
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well I bought a new router it was time my kids were getting older and there were more devices being used. It was time to get control of the Internet and what my kids were doing. With parental controls in fingertips. With the new app that's on my phone this made it easy for me to set up instead of asking my kids to set it up for me. It took me two times to set up the apps the first time. It prompts me to correct the mistake. I was impressed that this app walked me through the steps even if I did it wrong it corrected me and showed me how to reset the router and start again. The step by step instructions made it easy with the app. Now I don't experience lag in my Internet and the range is far greater than my old router. I also have an extender that was easy to set up with the new router. With all the features of the router on my phone now I'm able to control my router for gaming or for regular use. With the lit front I always know at a glance my router is connected and working. I recommend this highly. It was easy to set up. Fast speed and great distances. The app is user-friendly.

A Proper Device to Keep the Network Up-to-date
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stats - Takes about 1:20 seconds from boot to usable Wi-Fi - No speed degradation at 30ft with 5GHz, with metal-studed wall in between Pros - 3 adjustable antennas - Speedy hardware, easy-to-use software to control your network. - Ability to prioritize up to 3 devices. - Works well with Linksys Smart Wi-Fi App - Very light to handle - Powerful wireless technology - Easy to setup, just plug-in to modem & power, wait for boot to be ready, then personalize your settings Cons - Size is larger than common routers/modems, questionable since it is light given the size. Comments - A proper device for updating your wireless network.

          Worst Router Ever
Out of the box, this router was easy to setup and worked great. Subsequent firmware updates rendered the functionality of this router useless. Once the firmware is updated, the app no longer works and the user no longer has access to manage the devices on their network. The only way to fix this is to continually reset the router, but them it only holds for about 6 hours and then the cycle has to be repeated. Nobody has time to constantly reset the router and re-setup their home network every day. Based on other reviews and other websites, this is a known flaw that Linksys refuses to address. A newer firmware update was released in October 2021, but the Connectivity portal states the firmware is not compatible with the router (although is was pulled directly from the support page on linksys.com that matches the router). All attempts to upgrade to the newest firmware confirm that it was updated, but the router still shows the current version as being the older version. This router was good when it worked brand new but without the functionality that it prides itself on and the lack of usefulness of the app, the router is basically nothing more than an oversized paper weight. Long a supporter of Linksys, I will be going out today to buy a new non-Linksys router.

Beware - Firmware upgrade prevents admin login
check out https://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/ea7300-stuck-on-waiting.75371/ before you invest in this router. The firmware upgrade from March 2020 completly locks out any ability to log into the router and Linksys has refused to acknowledge or fix the issue. Prior versions work, but have a known issue that was supposedly fixed (but broke basic functionality for administrative log-in to the router. If you never want to configure your router's unique configurations, then go for it. We will probably buy some other companies router to replace ours as Linksys hasn't fixed the problem in 18+ months and counting.

Good router, but getting up in years
Purchase this AC1750 capable router a few years ago. Last LINKSYS firmware update was March 5, 2019. Is this router abandoned by Linksys since it was 1st released to market August 2016? LINKSYS Web page "Linksys End of Life (Obsolete Products) Part 1" lists ;model EA7500 for non-USA locations and model EA8250 is the closest matching USA model "LINKSYS EA8250 WIFI ROUTER,AC2150,MU-MIMO" BOTH of these routers are listed with an End of Life date Dec. 2020. so is the EA7400 at EOL too?

Horrible - Beware Smart WiFi DOES NOT WORK
This router will work, but is impossible to get into the management interface after first setup because Linksys Smart WiFi interface just locks the screen (read the Google reviews). Ended up just purchasing a TP-Link router to use as my main router and set the EA7300 up as a wireless bridge. The Linksys works great for that because you dont need to use SmartWiFi to access the unit in bridge mode.
