Works well; self priming is great. Very, very loud. I sunk a post 30 inches into the ground to make it very stable. I also tried putting an old bike inner tube between the motor and the post to help absorb the vibrations. It did not matter. It sounds like a shrieking leaf blower. It's a bit disappointing because I'm using it to circulate water in a homemade stock tank hot tub, and the shrieking makes it hard to relax. I tried putting a padded bucket over it, but that made it overheat. I initially installed it right at ground level because the documentation recommends installing it within 7 inches vertical of the water source. I got tired of bending over to check it, so I tried installing it at 2 feet, and it still worked, but instead of generating a continuous flow, it would squirt pulses of water. I lowered it to about a foot above the ground and the flow was continuous again, but not AS continuous as ground level.
