IS THIS PUMP GOOD FOR A FLAT ROOF TO DRAIN THE WATER OUT WHEN IT RAINS?

Answer

Your question leaves me wanting for more information about the specific application in order to give you the best possible advise. Here is my concern if you look at the spec sheet, found under the header info and guides you will see the following information about this pump, On level: 2"–3", Off level: ½"–1½". What that mean is that when the pressure switch releases and the pump shuts off there could still be 1/2" to 11/2" of water still on your roof. I am concerned that may still be problematic for you, based on the nature of your issue. I have a flat roof on my house and it has shaped insulation to guide the water to the down spouts. The shaped insulation has become compressed, in spots, over time. As a result i do have areas of puddling that are 1" deep. It is not a problem in my situation but may be in yours. If any water build up is a problem for you there are pumps called puddle suckers that will remove water down to the 1/8" but I am unaware of a switch that will turn them on an off automatically.

The "LL" in the model number stands for low level. As is indicated in the specification sheet. On level: 2"–3", Off level: ½"–1½"

does the pump come supplied with float switch?

Its the black device on the side of the pump with cord attached in picture above. It has own power cord where pump cord is plugged into float switch cord for control. The switch attached with two screws on side of pump and can be installed or removed. Switch will not disable pump when removed. I found switch only lasted about 2 years when under water; disassembled and cleaned but problem was inevitably the rubber diaphram warped,

The pump didnt pump all the H20 out as the sincer in the switch was not set to the lower setting so it stopped pumping when it got to the level in the switch. So I called the manufacture in Ok city & they told me I could order a sincor that would suck out more H20 but I said I would just be ok with this set up for not. So the info of the pump didnt say how low the H20 would be pumped out or anything about this before the pump would be shut off. So I wasnt very happy when I installed the pump to find out it shut off before the H20 was out. Oh well it does work for now.

What is weird and unexpected is the fact that this has a double cord. Meaning instead of one cord to control the unit, it actually has one cord that plugs into the back of another cord. The result is two cords going from the pump to the electrical outlet. This makes it bulky and seems it can easily fall over.
