Hello, this fixture has a height of 8.125", it is a ceiling mount fixture and it does not come with any downrods. If you want a similar design with same diameter with adjustable heights, you can check out our Park Ridge collection, 62613-91

Lighting can help define a room or entrance, the modern design reminds you of the traditional style but blends well with any decor. Everything was included in the box except the light bulbs. It had easy to follow directions and was easy to install. The light is well made with high quality steel making it durable. I was pleased it used standard bulbs, the light hold (4) Max 60 watt bulbs. We used 40 watt LED bulbs and it gives off plenty of light plus saves energy. The light features an off-white heavy weight fabric hardback drum shade with frosted white acrylic diffuser on the bottom of the shade. The semi-flush mount in brushed nickel hangs down just the right amount for the height of our ceilings. It looks elegant in our foyer and was exactly what I had hoped for. Soft light, with a blend of fabric and brushed nickel.

It measures 18 inches by 18 inches by 8.1 inches in height. I think the drum shade design is a drawback to older light shades where the drum style was most common. this oatmeal fabric shade reminds me of lights from the 60's and 70's yet the nickel is very "today" . This light is a good mix of old and new. I think you would classify this as transitional. to me it is perfect for a bedroom, or a hall, or if you had a large closet, or a kitchen light. Has 4 incandescent lights. Uses maximum of 60 watts so easily put this over a sitting area in a kitchen . The style is so deceptively brilliant you can put it almost anywhere. That is why this light is so versatile.

An attractive light for the price..... considered a semi flush-mount so it drops down a bit.... I like it more than the normal flush mount. A bit classier...and more interesting. Due to the size, I would use it more in a hall, entry way, bathroom, laundry room, etc. vs a dining area.... plenty of light, just not big enough to look right over a large table. Use LED bulbs so you can go as bright as you like....4 bulb holes gives you lots of options...you can just put 2 bulbs in if you don't need all the light.
