  • Features a UV-resistant white finish
Loctite tite foam is a new generation of polyurethane-based insulating foam sealant that expands to fill, seal and insulate gaps and cracks inside or out. It is white polymer foam based on purified and concentrated ingredients that provides four times more density versus conventional foams for better durability and insulation. It is easy to use and apply with its attached straw applicator and provides a quick durable seal from the elements. It can be used for multiple applications including sealing out drafts, moisture and pests. Its excellent UV resistance reduces brittles and discoloring. Loctite tite foam has very strong adhesion to substrates, while still providing flexibility to move with building materials after cured. It can be used on both interior and exterior projects and is paintable, sandable and stainable.
  • 4 Times more density over conventional foams, providing for better durability and insulation
  • Adheres and expands to fill, seal and insulate while remaining permanently flexible
  • Can be used for both interior and exterior applications
  • Tack free in 8 minutes, trims in 50 to 70 minutes
  • Cures to a bright white finish
  • Excellent UV resistance that reduces brittleness and darkening
  • Paintable, sandable and stainable

Questions & Answers

How do you remove this off hands?

Asked by: WC
This stuff doesn't come off your hands from the get go, wet or dry. WD-40 surprisingly doesn't take it off either. Using a cloth or paper towel as suggested is dumb as it will just cause them to stick to your hands. Test the acetone (nail polish remover) first as that might work. If you decide to go ahead with this you are going to need rubber gloves and they will be toast afterward. This stuff cannot be handled like caulking as its way too sticky, think super glue with the consistency of melted marsh mellows that's what you're dealing with. Not a very good product in IMO. Instructions suck. The straw will also continue to leak everwhere after spraying too so there is also that to look out for. Loctite products are good for fasteners (screws, bolts etc..) but wouldn't use this stuff unless you are absolutely certain you will not need to handle or shape it in some way.

Can this be used multiple times? If not, what is the approx. working time before it hardens and clogs, rendering it useless?
Asked by: tsm
No. The foam in the squirt tube cures, and that can is no longer usable. So locate all the spots you want to use it first, and then go at it.

Much stronger and denser than Great Stuff - very dense and hard when dried and cured. Probably much better to keep out rodent-type pests compared to Great Stuff. Expands quite a lot - which can be a downside. I used it to seal gaps around pipes going up into kitchen, in the ceiling of an unfinished basement, so appearance isn't a concern, but be prepared for it to expand more than you think. And since it's so dense, expanding the surrounding material may be a concern. I also use DAP foam and in some applications it is better - I can compress it by hand before it cures. For outdoor applications, though, this beats Great Stuff hands down; being resistant to sunlight UV is a huge bonus, since Great Stuff quickly oxidizes if not painted.

The trigger falls off and the straw falls off rather easily too. What a mess! 2. It must be used upside down, which in many cases it's nearly impossible to do, they should make a trigger that's at a 45 or 35 degree angle rather than 90. Many folks like me will use this product to seal around pipes like heating oil inlet & vent pipes, electrical lines, furnace air inlets and water spigots, which are all usually drilled in the middle or above of a 2x10 or 2x12, so as I said, the can just doesn't fit into the tight of space. I tried anyway and that's when the trigger popped off getting all over the can & my hands. 3. The foam keeps oozing out for 10 minutes after you stop pulling the trigger, so be careful where you set down the can once you're done, again what a mess it caused! 4. You can use it a few days later, but make sure you clean out the straw & trigger before you store it. I ended up having to scrape out the straw with a metal batt insulation support. I guess an old coat hanger would have worked too. 5. You need to wear rubber gloves, thin plastic gloves will just rip as the stuff is SO sticky. 6. It's hard to be neat with this foam, as it's like melted marshmallow. Some reviewers say it expands to 2x the size, I think it does that in the first few seconds and then keeps expanding to 3x or 4x's the size when finally cured. 7. As sticky as the foam is when wet, it falls easily off of wood & cement when dry.

Only 2 items to remember, once you start with a can plan on using it all, no way to stop for a while and come back to can to use-material hardens in nozzle. Also, hard to control how much to apply, it keeps expanding. We had siding boards over the foundation with gaps large enough that grass grew through. No More. Great product, just use with a little common sense.

Went to cut off overspray on both wood and concrete, the sections I cut off where not bonded to either. Doesn't adhere to plastic I put on the wall for protection, nor some rubber tubing it wrapped around, easily peeled off. I could easily separate from just about any material. Yes it is dense, but if it doesn't adhere to the material?!? I have waterproof aluminum deck that is finished on the bottom. The way it is designed has negative/empty space as it goes over the rafters (to save material). Wasps where getting in and I used a can of this to fill the gaps. Now I have to pull out all of this, and replace with one of the many other brands. I didn't check to see if it bonded to the aluminum, but since it is on the wooden rafters... Glad I only used 1 can, instead of all 10 I had purchased. Also, you will need more cans for the same finished volume. It is cheap, so do your own testing before you get aggressive with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loctite Foam Sealant Loctite 12 fl. oz. Tite Insulating Foam fills gaps and cracks around your home. Can be used inside or out all year round, provides better insulation, is less likely to shrink or crack, flexes with seasonal changes. The applicator easily screws on and the straw gives you more reach. Be sure to use gloves because the sealant is hard to remove if you get on your fingers. Manipulate with straw while wet, dries fast, can be sanded and stained after drying. I did find the foam continues to expand in straw even when you release the trigger so you can get a little overflow. I used to seal around the windows in my utility building.

I purchased two with the intention of using it to seal up some gaps in my garage, and as much as I would love to tell you about how this product performed I unfortunately cant as I never got the cans to actually dispense the foam. The first can functioned, put the nozzle on and pulled the trigger and foam leaked out. Not from the end of the straw but from the cap connecting to the can. there was no pressure, no actual foam coming out aside for everything leaking down the can and my hand. I thought, "Oh ok. That's weird lets try the other can." The second can fared even worse, once the cap was on and I pulled the trigger no foam came out. I shook it again, pulled the trigger and again... nothing. The only sound I heard was a nice load snap of plastic as the white plastic nozzle you screw the cap onto snapped off completely. This was my first time using Loctite's spray foam and most likely will be my last, if I need spray foam in the future now well I think ill stick to Great Stuff. At least the last time I used that I was actually able to use product.
