Customer Reviews

PL Premium 10 fl. oz. Polyurethane Construction Adhesive is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Adhesive This product has impressed me every time I've used it. The bond is very strong. The most impressive experience was bonding PVC wainscoting to glossy ceramic bathroom tile & then gluing plastic base moulding to the wainscoting. I used no clamping or weight on the wainscoting but butted cement blocks against the moulding during drying time. The adhesive is very tacky but can be repositioned easily. Reviewers complain about oozing tubes after releasing their caulking gun; this can be reduced or eliminated by making sure to puncture the inner foil seal multiple times to make as large a hole as possible. This keeps oozing to a minimum by not allowing pressure to build in the tube & it makes the end of the nozzle the choke point. I use little Red Cap caulk savers on partially used tubes & the PL stays fresh for months, longer than most cartridge adhesives & caulks. I reused a tube to eliminate a water leak around a concrete wall basement gas pipe.

In addition to regular use at work, I recently built a Christmas creche out of western cedar 4x4, 2x4, and pickets- you know, fence materials- for our church, using PL premium. 40 half lapped pegged joints. If you want a strong, permanent, weatherproof joint, this glue is for you. I glued and screwed the joints tight as I went. The following day pulled the screws, bored 5/8ths holes through the joints where the screws had been placed, and glued and pegged the joints. Incredibly strong construction technique, WAY stronger than 3" plated drywall screws I normally use on half laps. Pegged and glued half laps baby. THE way to roll, especially in historic post and beam recreation where time isn't a factor. PL does stain your hands big time, and it oozes to beat the band. Solution? Jam a round pencil or carve a plug and jam it in the snout. Set the gun down on its side, with the plug butted against something so it doesn't pop out. Drawback it is expense, but big deal, it is forever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I LOVE this stuff NOTHING like it! I used this for subfloor. (Worked like a charm.) I've used it to seal air drafts in hidden areas. (Like the time I found mold on an interior/ exterior wall. Sealed the base..no problem) Recently I used it to glue tiny polished river rock to a support beam under a handicapped sink/counter. I have gotten nothing but compliments on the job, the PL color is hidden by the rock. (WARNING you an only do a few rows at a time or things slide off. TAKE YOUR TIME!) Be sure to wear gloves, have a scrap piece of wood to lay the tube on.. and use a small heating pad to warm the tube . It helps the glue to flow better. HAPPY DESIGNING! PS. I also used it on the floor where there were subtle changes in grade for a zero-clearance cricketed shower. If female, five foot nothing me can have fun with this..SO CAN YOU!

So far works better than the Loctite landscape adhesive which is about $1 cheaper. Worth the extra money. No issues so far even after a week long rain. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost Too Strong This semi expanding 15% adhesive cured to a resin like hot glue gun in a tube. It doesn't have the initial grab like thicker adhesive but for five bucks, it's the best value for money.
