Is this only for the base of rhe tub? Can it be used for thw rest of the shower caulk that may be bad?

I wouldn't use it at all, terrible product. Use regular bath and kitchen adhesive sealant.

Can this product be used as an original bead of caulk? I have removed the caulk around a shower floor so there is no caulk to repair. Just curious if this could be used as a base caulk.
