50 Amp Plasma Cutter, 200 Amp TIG/Stick Welder 3-in-1 Combo Welding Machine, Dual Voltage 110V/220V

I purchased this unit because of its capability to do both plasma cutting and TIG welding. I have used other popular name-brand units that were separate TIG and plasma cutter units, and this LOTOS unit is just as capable for less than half the price of the name-brand units! This unit will cut 1/4" steel with no difficulty as long as you are patient and move slowly. I have used the TIG welder functionality and the output is sufficient to weld very thick steel as long as the operator understands how to weld using TIG. Overall I'm very impressed with the value! Highlights: * The plasma cutter consumables (nozzles, electrodes, etc.) are common and found online at affordable prices. * The TIG torch is a standard WP-17 air-cooled torch and cups, collets, electrodes, replacement parts, and consumables are all readily available in your local welding store. * The input power source can be either 110V or 220V. It uses a standard 30-Amp twist-lock plug which I also bought the receptacle from my local Home Depot store. * Changing between TIG/plasma/stick functions is easy and requires only a 3/4 wrench in most cases. * There were many complaints about the user manual, but the recent May 2014 version of the manual appears to be very comprehensive! Observations: * I went ahead and purchased the additional control pedal from the manufacturer for use with the TIG. * The gas line input uses barbed hose fittings and a braided hose line which is not preferred by me. * The hose clamps that come with the unit are insufficient and the additional barbed fittings to use to make a gas/air manifold valve system don't appear to be 1/4"NPT (they leaked when installed). I ended up purchasing new NPT barbed fittings, stainless hose clamps, and 1/4" reinforced hose from my local Home Depot store. * Although the TIG torch is a standard WP-17 torch, the connection to the unit is not standard because it needs to be interchangeable with the connection for the plasma torch. * The ground clamp wire is pretty short compared to the plasma/TIG/stick cables. It does use the standard "Dinse" connector, so a longer one of thicker wire gauge can be made easily. * The plasma/TIG torch connector on the unit is kind of a cheap bulkhead connector and will spin if over-tightened. To prevent this, I have to hold the case with a pair of adjustable pliers and tighten/loosen the fitting with the 3/4" wrench.

With plasma, the unit is rated to cut up to 5/8" (severe). I tried ot cut an inch or so of 1/2" steel. The unit will shut down in less than 30 seconds if trying to cut on full power. 1/8" material is doable for durations up to a minute or so before the yellow light comes on (duty cycle max achieved) at which time you have to let the machine cool, shut down and restart to continue. You may consider going with something more substantial if you want to do any moderate amount of plasma cutting with the unit...

This machine is light weight and very user friendly it took very little effort to be welding and cutting with it, from box to in use took less than a half hour for the price I’m very. Happy with it

The lotus has met my expectations.. the unit showed up on time as indicated in shipping status, the unit is quality for the $. It welds well, I do suggest buying upgraded cups and tungsten. Also get the pedal for it. Worth the extra $.

Not very happy with the cutting it said can cut 1/2 in and I could not get it to cut 1/8 in very well

It is a Great welder and plasma cutter, I love it well worth the money
