The review you’re looking for
The actual dimensions of the larger model (AA1510I) are 24 11/16” x 53 1/2”. My rough opening was 25” x 54”. My ceiling height was 7’-6 1/2”, so according to reviews this unit should not have worked for me. I had to remove the third section of this unit, cut the second section shorter, and then reattach the third section, and then cut it again before adding on the legs. It does the job, and had I not needed it this short the install would’ve been pretty easy if you consider yourself handy. So can it fit shorter ceilings? Yes, but it’s likely not as easy as cutting the third section shorter.

We installed this to create more convenient attic access for our 1960 hip roof home which previously only had a small access in the master closet. Our home has a double ceiling, so the install was a little more complicated but it worked great for our use. We installed a hardwood panel over the unit, painted and trimmed out then added a handle for a more finished look since this is in the main hallway of our home. Works great!

Product is very flimsy. The aluminum stairs seem like a great idea but steps are not very wide compared to the wooden pull down stairs. The company also didn’t do a good job of grinding sharp edges so be careful with when using the stairs. I would not recommend this set and should of stayed with a wooden set.
