Makes Grease job slick as a whistle to do
This is a great cartridge feed grease gun. Super easy to load. Very easy to follow instructions are included in the kit. Grease gun has a nice even flow. Doesn't spit or sputter. Stores nicely without making a mess or leaking. Handle is comfortable to use and control. The output hose is really easy to control and can even be replaced to a rubber hose if needed for your application.

Great home grease gun
Got this for my home garage. It is really well made and will apply grease in just about any location. The gun comes equipped with a solid steel tube for application. The tip is well made with 4 grippers for a solid connection to a zerc. It is designed to either take cartridges or can be loaded from a large container. Instructions are included for proper use and preparation. The handle is properly long enough to allow easy use and each stroke delivers a good amount of grease. You won't go wrong with this grease gun!

Well-built tool
If you're needing a grease gun, this one should really do the trick. It is solidly-built, and should last a very long time. I'm actually replacing my old one, which I have had for over 50 years, so I like tools that hold up over time. The pressure spring is VERY strong - I had to hook the handle in my vise and then pull against the vise to get it compressed to where a fresh grease cartridge could be inserted. So far I have not seen any leakage issues, even with the full spring pressure. The handle has a comfortable grip, and a plastic cover should help with any tendency to drip after use.

Works With Some Help
This looked like a really good grease gun. It has good weight and balance. It's compact enough for tight spaces, and it's very durable. However, after the quick assembly and first use, my opinion changed. Loaded with a new tube of grease, I attempted to prime the fitting stim by pumping the handle. It worked as it should by spurting out grease. As I continued to grease the fitting, no grease would come out of the gun. I did however notice grease leaking from around the head of the grease tube. So I tightened the tube head again. Still no grease would exit the gun nozzle. So then I removed the nozzle head where there is a spring loaded ball bearing. My guess is the ball bearing controls the amount of grease released with each pump of the handle. Then I put the back onto the nozzle. Still there was no grease flowing. Next, I removed the ball bearing and tightened the nozzle head. Now grease was flowing effortlessly from the nozzle head into the fitting. The first two fitting went well. When I attempted to grease the last two fittings, the plunger went all the way down toward the gun, indicating it was empty. Next I pull the plunger back and locked it so I could remove the empty grease tube. But the grease wasn't empty. In fact it was nearly full. The result was grease flying out of the tube onto the floor. All was left was to finish removing the old grease tube. However again, this presented a problem. The now empty grease tube would not come out of the gun with assistance. I had to pry it out with a screwdriver which destroyed the empty grease tube.

Response from Lumax Product ExpertSep 1, 2021
WillR, we apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. Based on your comment "the plunger went all the way down toward the gun, indicating it was empty", I would like to advise that the plunger should be pushed all the way back into the gun when a new cartridge is loaded. The plunger should not be in a pulled-out fashion when greasing. If you'd like more information on how to resolve, please reach us at Info@Lumax.com and we'd be happy to assist.
A must have
Finally had to break down and get a new grease gun. I got this one since it was simple and looked well made. Came with non flexible sprout. Works well. was easy to fill with jut the right amount of grease in the tube. I do not like leaving a lot grease in the gun Store it in the garage and worry about the heat. Grease gun supplied plenty of pressure to fill the fitings on my lawn mower, so very happy.

A reliable and well crafted workhorse.
The Lumax model LX-1100 Utility Grease Gun is a high quality, exceptionally well made tool that will handle just about anything the homeowner and mechanic can throw at it, and it will keep doing it for years. This is a pneumatic tool, meaning it relies on tight seals and close machine tolerances to generate and hold the high pressure required to move sluggish grease into tight grease fittings, bearings and other moving parts with very little muscle power required. This model has been designed to solve the most frustrating design flaw common to all the older Grease Guns I have now discarded in favor of this one. That defect, and that is exactly what it was, is loading a grease cartridge, that in earlier versions of this generic tool, regardless of who manufactured it required that you draw out a long, loose “T” handle grease compression rod, hook it precariously into a slot where it sits under strong spring compression, and then assemble the grease cylinder into the body of the gun before the rod rockets free hurling the whole contents of the grease cartridge all over the floor and all over you. This has happened to me so many times. The Lumax gun incorporates a self-locking steel retainer tab at the bottom of the grease cylinder that you easily release only after you have everything contained and screwed down tight inside the gun. This feature alone is like coming out of the dark ages. Another thing about this gun I really like is that it has a generously large pressure pump handle with an easy grip plastic grip that creates a lot of pressure with small muscle input and makes it easier to grip the tool with greasy hands. I would also note that Lumax has a very informative web site with video “How to” information and they also have a large line of not only accessories and replacement parts for this excellent product, but quite a line of equally well thought out additional tools. You can’t go wrong with this tool, and I am very glad to have come across it and now have it in my hands.

Add to your toolbox
This is a standard type grease gun. When attached, it pushes out grease with very little effort. I do not think much has changed in grease gun technology but this works as advertised. The pump is preprimed so just slip in a tube of grease and it will dispense on the second pump. This unit does not come with the flexible hose attachment but Lumax sells those as well.

quality and affordable grease gun
I have had this gun for a little over a week and have used it with both standard and metric zerk's fittings. Upon unboxing the gun, I needed to screw on the nozzle and the tip. You must make sure these are tight because the grease when pumped into some fittings develops a lot of pressure and will ooze out an unsecured joint. I found the gun to be ergonomic and worked well. I have over 15 fittings on my tractor to test it out on. There were no instructions as to how to assemble or load a grease tube.

Lumax Utility Grease Gun
The Lumax Utility Grease Gun arrived a couple days ago. It was very simple to load a tube of grease into it and start using it. Today I used it to lube the lawn tractor wheel joints and the deck pulleys. It worked great without a problem. I plan to also use it to lube my truck when needed. This product is light weight, easy to handle and it definitely met my expectations.
