Is the delay until off time adjustable? If not what is the delay until off time? Thanks.

Asked by: Huck
does the light remain on as long as there is motion, even past the delay time?

Can we replace the rocker switch with Lutron

I could not find the manual
Asked by: uday
Absolutely. Whether you have the big rocker switch or the old style toggle switch, it will physically fit. The internal body of the switch fits the normal electrical box in the wall. The only change would be if you had a toggle switch before, you'll just need to get a rocker face plate. A few cents to a few dollars.

Is there a way to keep the light on, even when room isn’t occupied?! This switch is driving me nuts!

We have this installed in an L-shaped garage. When working around the corner the light constantly turns off. There’s no way to keep it on manually!!!!
Asked by: Matt
Sure there is, install a common toggle switch. If you don't want a switch that turns itself on/off why have one? Sorry, but you gotta be smarter than what your working with.

Maestro 2 Amp Single-Pole Motion Sensor Switch, White is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 654.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Switch with Excellent Features! I just finished installing the switch. It was very easy and the directions for setting the options, sensitivity, timeout and occupancy mode is straight forward and easy. Most people will be happy with the default settings (timeout 5 min), auto on/off. The other feature on this switch is that it can detect if it is daylight and it will not turn on the light, however, this feature is not turned on by default and you would have to select that option after install. This switch also is modern and works with all the different light standards, LED, CFL ect.. It makes a clicking noise letting you know that it activated and my light comes on instantly! It replaced another popular manufactures switch which did not work worth a darn. I believe Lutron to be a great manufacture of lighting products and the fact that this switch states it works with all the different light types is probably why it is performing so well with my florescent light.

There are two rooms in my home that have greatly benefited from the installation of these switches: Laundry and Master Closet. No more shifting of the load we are carrying into or out of these areas just to free up enough of one hand or arm to turn on the light. These devices are easy to install and configure. Due to the relative small size of each room I have set the sensitivity to low. However, even this setting turns the light on unnecessarily. This is not a problem with the switch, it is a problem of location. The switch performs as intended and we are very satisfied. We definitely recommend this simple solution. As a side note, I fixed the unnecessary light activation by placing a piece of opaque tape over about one-third of the lens to block the sensor from seeing any motion that would trigger it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value, easy to install, very user friendly! I am an electrical contractor & have used the Lutron Maestro sensor for residential room occupancy and walk-in closets. I installed multiple brands and models of occupancy sensors in a medical facility for the staff to try. Each room had a different one and I left them during a trial period so that the owner could receive feedback from employees and management. The Lutron Maestro was the choice of the entire staff as the most efficient & nicest looking, and ended up being the only model used throughout. (I removed & replaced the other brands & models. Some others weren't compatible with fluorescents.) The Maestros are easy to install, and quick to program. They were used mostly with fluorescent light fixtures, which started immediately and had no flicker or buzzing. Also a huge plus is the Maestro was the 2nd least expensive, losing only to another brand offered in a discounted 2-pack. I will be suggesting the Maestro over other sensors I have recommended to customers in the past. Some programming requires the removal of the faceplate to access a small tab, but this is the only slight con there is.

This device solved my problem of sometimes forgetting to shut the light off or thinking I was going to return and did not. Now I don't have to go back down stairs to shut the lights off. I found the instructions included with the switch a little confusing when it came to pressing AND HOLDING a particular button to make a custom change. I downloaded the associated PDF file from the Lutron website and found those directions to be clearer. The switch works fine but the only problem I have is that the switch is right outside the basement door so it is not able to sense that I am still in the room. This can be resolved by getting up every 30 minutes to reactivate or waving something in front of the sensor from around the corner.

I bought this Motion Sensor Switch because the switch in the garage was in the wrong place to turn on the light in the garage. I was thinking of moving the switch when I saw this at home depot and try it out. The Motion Sensor Switch has been excellent because the light automatically turns on when you enter the garage and turn off when you leave. You can also change how long you want to leave it on if you are working in the garage. This is a excellent product because you don't have to worry about turning off the light and wasting electricity leaving the light on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Switch! I chose this switch for my master bedroom walk-in closet. There is a flourescent light in the room, so that's why I chose this switch. Apparently, many other switches will not work with fluorescents. This thing activates the second we walk into the closet. Then there are different modes that will keep the switch on for varying amounts of time. I chose one minute, so it shuts off one minute after we leave the room. It really comes in handy at night time when walking around. We can wave our hand in the closet to activate the light and then safely find our way back to bed with the light. One minute later, the light goes out. I plan to buy another for the kid's bathroom because getting them to turn off the light after they leave that room is a losing battle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lutron vs Leviton I have bought 4 of these switches. I also have one of the lutron 3-way switches and one leviton switch. They all work as advertised. However there are some things to take note of. First, if you get a lutron three way switch make sure you have a ground wire at the location you plan to install the motion sensor switch. Otherwise it will not work. I cant comment on this for the 2 way switches though, because they all had grounds at the locations I installed them. Also, make sure you read the instructions well for the 3-way switches. You have to rewire the other regular switch opposite the location of the motion switch, and you may have to swap the traveler wires if it doesnt work the first time. As far a leviton vs lutron they both have some things I like better than the other. 1. I like the manual push button on the lutrons more. It feels more sturdy. 2. The Leviton has more ability to control the timing and light sensitivity. With the lutron you can only pick a few specific settings for the time the light stays on after you leave the room. With the leviton it is a pot switch that you can select anything between 30 seconds and 30 minutes. With the lutron it self learns the settings you would want for the light to come on and off due to the amount of daylight in the room. With the leviton you have control of this setting with a pot switch. 3. The leviton is a bit easier to wire. It uses screw terminals where as the lutron uses wire nuts which can make the box get a little cramped. All in all both seem to be great switches and work well though.

Bought for the basement when entering from the outside where the switch is not beside the door but across the room (Second home like this). This will help me be able to not worrying about navigating through a dark room with a hand full of items from the outside. Can set to turn off at a certain time, the movement strength and can also be use Manually (Like a normal switch).
