Product Overview

The Maestro Multi-Location Digital Dimmer from Lutron allows you to dim a light fixture from multiple locations. Use this product in 600-Watt electronic Low-Voltage applications. The easy-to-operate tap switch turns lights on/off to your favorite light level or tap twice for full on. Press, hold and release the switch for delayed fade-to-off. Delayed fade-to-off gives you 10-60 seconds to leave the room or get into bed before the lights go out. Adjust the light level for any activity using the rocker. LED's display the light level and glow softly in the dark, so you can easily find the control. Using Maestro dimmers and companion dimmers, you can control a single light from up to 10 locations - the perfect combination for controlling the lights at either end of the staircase or at both entrances to a room. Maestro dimmers are perfect for every room of your home. Coordinating Claro wall plates and accessories sold separately.
  • Perfect for use in multi-location dimming, up to nine locations
  • 1-tap on/off to selected light level, two taps full bright, press and hold for 10 second fade to off
  • Delayed off provides light as you exit the room
  • Rocker adjusts light to enhance ambiance and decor

Is this dimmer controllable by an app, Alexa or Google?

Answers

The MAELV-600 is not a smart dimmer and cannot be controlled by an app, Alexa or Google. Instead, Lutron recommends the Caseta Wireless product line as this may integrate with several third parties, including Alexa and Google.

Answer

Yes, the second switch would need to be replaced, as well. The MAELV-600 should be placed on the load side of the lighting circuit (where the switch leg is that leads to the light fixture). On the line side, Lutron recommends installing the MA-R companion dimmer. You can see an illustration of the wiring here: http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/368-4493_Page_18.pdf.

Very likely.

is this a line voltage led dimmer, for replacing existing switches?

Asked by harry November 21, 2017

Answer

The MAELV-600 is an electronic low voltage dimmer that is rated for 600W of incandescent/halogen lighting loads. While this can replace existing switches, this dimmer will require a neutral connection for proper functionality.

Will this dimmer work with 9 -25 watts Kobi electric led light bulbs on a two way switch?

Asked by KP August 14, 2017
1
Answer

As long as the Kobi LED bulbs that you are working with are rated to be controlled by an ELV (electronic low voltage) dimmer, then this product should be compatible with the lights.

I have 10 CTL LC18RT6-ECO-B/WW led trims on 3 different switches. 5 are on a 3-way some will start to flash. ??????????

Asked by Stumped August 10, 2016

Answer

This sounds like it could be a compatibility problem between the bulb and the dimmer you are using. In order to properly diagnose and resolve this issue, you can call into Lutron's 24/7 tech support line at 1-844-588-7661 where a representative would be happy to help.

My new LED can lights are buzzing. Now wired with 2 - 3 way switches. Will the wiring work the same?

Asked by Dave June 27, 2016

Answer

The wiring would be similar with this product however in order for it to function properly, it will also need a neutral wire connection in the box.

We needed a large (>500 watt) dimmer for our entry led chandelier. This dimmer works perfectly but you will also need a companion switch to use this dimmer.

I needed a dimmer for a low voltage (transformer) powering some LED puck lights in a cabinet. I first tried another brand that claimed to be compatible with ELV applications. That dimmer caused the lights to flicker continuously at all dimmer settings. I replaced it with this one and it works great! I suppose you sometimes get what you pay for.
